I think it's overstated how bad it'll be at home games. Once the first few weeks go by the Target Center and Love is still around they'll grow fatigued with it and not care anymore if they even cared to start. I doubt there will be a chorus of boos after Thanksgiving, maybe just a loudmouth or two screaming in a dead arena 3/4s full.

Unless he directly comes out and insults the state or something the casual Wolves fan won't care.

I know you're being sarcastic, cam, but Flip will be able to get something for Love...he's just not likely to get what many here think he can get. But stranger things have happened. I'm still hoping for a GM to overvalue Love and give us a good return, but I'm not holding my breath.

I think Flip knows that a lesser deal (like the Boston one I have suggested) is much better than nothing.

I have yet to see any deal overvalue Love. Even the one's proposed on this board that get called far-fetched aren't equal value for Love.

Based on some of the thinking of this thread Love should get his chance to publically boo the Wolves organization for how they botched so much of what happened while he was in MN. Like someone else said the Love hate here is getting ridiculously out of control.

No matter what stars do they can't do anything right unless they have currently won a championship then its pretty much ok till they fail to do that again. That video posted by someone about Love looking pretty much dejected as a human being after the Memphis loss looks good compared to the smiling faces like Wes that made posters like Lip who saw it first hand go nuts. Love wants to go somewhere and win. Wow what an asshole.

Love doesn't need his agent to tell him to play well. He has been exceeding expectations for years and likely will be an even better player this year than last because thats what he has been doing for years. People are flat out speculating on what Love thinks or has said and in some cases flat out are making crap up.

Everyone here knows my bias towards Love and I have said my stance is keeping Love unless you get a great offer. Having said that people need to take a step back and ask themselves what they KNOW for certain about the Love situation. the reality is we don't KNOW that much. Flip does and its possible we will never know what position he is in at this moment.

Now what will we do if we keep Love? Well what I would do is cut Shved and move on to get someone that sucks less running the point and can do something at some consistent level. Next I would sign the best big I could get preferably one that could score some. Kris Humphries would be amazing, but I'd take Ed Davis too. If I could make some small trades great but I don't have the info of what trade values or options are out there but Flip does. There will be some guys available for a good contract when the dust settles there are every year. Its the depth part of the roster that really needs help. Yes another legit starter on the wing would be great and thats what this team needs to be a contender, but solid depth would help us take that next step. I think thats possible to achieve this year.

How about the several interviews he has given over the years and all his questionable statements?

How about the throwing of his teammates under the bus after losses?

How about his horrendous lack of effort on the defensive side of the floor?

What did he do? For all we know, he hasn't demanded a trade. He hasn't been a nuisance talking about wanting to play on a different team. All that's happened is he said "they" instead of "we", paired with media upping the attention on the situation. Is he going to opt out? Hell yeah he's going to opt out. We all knew that. Nothing's changed this off-season.

How about his teammates (Martin, Barea, Cunningham) being worthy of being called out? Martin's fumble was brutal. I'm surprised Love handled that as nicely as he did considering how absurdly dumb that play was. Two rotation players moping on the bench during a game and they deserve a pass? Okay then. Could it have been handled differently, sure, but it wasn't a cry of "I hate this team send me elsewhere" like you're making it out to be.

Lack of defense? Welp. How about his elite scoring ability? How about his elite rebounding? How about his elite passing? I'm supposed to not want Love on my team because he doesn't grind it out on defense? Come on now. That's stupid.

Love's a warrior, and I don't mean the ones in Oakland. Guy brings it night in and night out with superstar production and efficiency. Hate the situation we're in, not the player. Love wanted to re-up for the max. He wanted to stay. He's been vocal about how he likes the state of Minnesota and its fans. He was vocal about how the Wolves have a better situation than the Lakers. Love just wants to win, get his deserved attention as one of the top players in the game and get his money too. All of this can be accomplished while wearing a Wolves jersey. The team, including Love, just have to prove it on the court that there's a winning future here.

Just how far up your ass is your head?

Yep, and if he would have had the guts to show up at target field last night i would have booed him there too. And remember, I have been a Kevin Love guy from the time he came here. But like LST, I have no time for a guy who who is as self absorbed as Love is. To win me back over he would have to declare that Minny is the place he wants to win, and back it up by signign a new contract next summer.

CoolBreeze44 wrote:If we keep Love you can expect a similar season to what we just experienced, only with a lot more turmoil and infighting. Love will be booed mercilessly on his home court - as he should be - and the team will have the worst chemistry of any group in the league. Knowing this, other teams will continue to low-ball the Wolves at the trade deadline figuring Flip will be desperate. Flip will refuse trade offers and let him walk at the end of the season, where he will most likely head for NY or LA.

Because of all this, your premise of actually hanging onto him seems far fetched to me.

The fact NY & LA can sign him outright adds leverage. If you really want him you will offer a fair trade otherwise have fun watching him to go NY/LA. Think the Cavs want the Knicks to get Love or even the Celtics?

The offers Flip is getting have nothing to do with teams over or under valuing Love. They just think they have more leverage and can low ball teams in this situation. Teams do this every time a star is likely leaving.
