I don't hate the guy. But I am 100 times greater a Wolves fan than any players fan. That is where my loyalty is and will always be. Players come and go every year. Love has a right to be frustrated over what has transpired since his tenure. He should already be playing with Curry. But that doesn't excuse in my mind the unprofessional and insubordinate tact he has taken this offseason.

No matter what stars do they can't do anything right unless they have currently won a championship then its pretty much ok till they fail to do that again. That video posted by someone about Love looking pretty much dejected as a human being after the Memphis loss looks good compared to the smiling faces like Wes that made posters like Lip who saw it first hand go nuts. Love wants to go somewhere and win. Wow what an asshole.
Love doesn't need his agent to tell him to play well. He has been exceeding expectations for years and likely will be an even better player this year than last because thats what he has been doing for years. People are flat out speculating on what Love thinks or has said and in some cases flat out are making crap up.
Everyone here knows my bias towards Love and I have said my stance is keeping Love unless you get a great offer. Having said that people need to take a step back and ask themselves what they KNOW for certain about the Love situation. the reality is we don't KNOW that much. Flip does and its possible we will never know what position he is in at this moment.
Now what will we do if we keep Love? Well what I would do is cut Shved and move on to get someone that sucks less running the point and can do something at some consistent level. Next I would sign the best big I could get preferably one that could score some. Kris Humphries would be amazing, but I'd take Ed Davis too. If I could make some small trades great but I don't have the info of what trade values or options are out there but Flip does. There will be some guys available for a good contract when the dust settles there are every year. Its the depth part of the roster that really needs help. Yes another legit starter on the wing would be great and thats what this team needs to be a contender, but solid depth would help us take that next step. I think thats possible to achieve this year.
Good post and great point about what we actually KNOW. Fans often judge off rumors, speculation or second hand info. I really don't like what Love has done this off season and how he has spoken about the team, but not about to burn him at the stake or anything.
If they don't trade him then I think Flip needs to make a couple moves to improve the roster overall. I still like the idea of taking a risk on Gordon by trading Martin and 1 other wing. Smaller moves like bringing in a new backup PF and wing, etc. Something to shed 1 or 2 of the 4-5 mill guys.

And if you never had Love, you probably wouldn't have a team to root for today. If we kept Mayo instead of Love, I'm guessing they are the Seattle Wolves right now
Re: If we keep Love....what's next?
The only way I see myself booing the guy is if he comes out this coming season and appears to be dogging it. In all reality the Wolves organization is to blame for the situation it finds itself it. Poor drafting and giving out contracts to guys like Bud and Brewer havent helped this team. Having a coach that looked disinterested last year didnt help any either.
If you had an opportunity to sit down in front of Love and sell him on the direction of this team what would u say? I cant totally be pissed that he wants to explore other options really. I almost find his honesty refreshing... Almost.

I think everyone can deduce from Flip's conversations on Funkadelic that Love has asked out. I don't need to see Love's lips moving to come to that conclusion.
We absolutely should not make another move that is specific to building around Love for this season whether we keep him or not. Flip is clearly pissed that he made moves (most likely at Adelman's direction) to put shooters around Love last off season only to have Love demand a trade after one of the two seasons left on his deal.
My number one concern at this point is getting Ricky signed to a new deal. If his agent demands the five year max, let him run the RFA route and see what he is worth. If we can get him on a four year 40-45 mil deal, I would take it. I don't believe there is an significant animosity between Ricky and Kevin. This BS about leadership comments was blown completely out of proportion.
As for booing Love, any fan who puts up his dollars to get a ticket has that right, and saying Love doesn't deserve it because he is an elite rebounder, passer, whatever doesn't change that for me. Love is paid Max dollars for those skills, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be held accountable on the defensive end as well. If you truly want to win, you play both ends of the court to the best of your ability, and Love hasn't done that.

I need to see more from Ricky before I throw that much money at him. Some here say it goes past what he does on the floor but in reality if he doesnt improve this team wont win and if they dont win fans will get over those boyish good looks and charisma real fast. The Ws put people in the seats.
Id like to see contracts put out there based on what theyve been producing not on what u hope theyll produce in the future. He got that with his rookie contract.

Why? Because we've had so many winning seasons by having Love here?

Nah, i dont believe that we wont have a team anymore if we kept mayo instead of love. Big al might never got traded, our draft picks in the next few years might have been different. Thats going too far alex.

I enjoyed him as much as anyone. Many nights he was the sole reason I turned on the game. But my makeup is that once you have no use for me, I have no use for you. The fans aren't making him leave, he's choosing to turn his back on the franchise. In a sports context, I think it's reason to hate him going forward. And realize people, I said in a sports context. I have no personal ill will to Love at all.
