Off-Season Options
It's late and all I can think about are the options our Timberwolves will possibly have this off-season. All of these moves work under the current CBA I believe. If not, point them out and I'll make corrections. If any of them are just flat out one-sided, also bring it to attention. Keep in mind, though, some of these deals may slightly favor towards the Wolves. Trying to be creative while making upgrades. If you have any more options, be my guest.

Re: Off-Season Options
Trade love to the cavs for #1, a future 1st, waiters, gee, varejao.
Draft wiggins at 1.
Trade pek and 13th to sixers for young and 10. We may need to add more pieces here to make sixers agree.
Trade young + martin or young +waiters and bud to pistons for monroe in a sign and trade.
We end up with the core of rubio/wiggins/monroe. Pretty solid for me. We may have to give up more in the sixers and pistons deal but outside of dieng and rubio and the 10th pick, il trade any player on the roster to get a core of rubio/wiggins/monroe.

Re: Off-Season Options
I didn't have a chance to read the entire post (self-diagnosed ADD kicked in), but it's an interesting scenario even if we do end up staying put. We end up with a new coach, probably some minor shuffling on the back end of our roster (Shved anyone?), a full season of Dieng+Pekovic on regular minutes, the #3 pick, etc.
The Wolves 40-42 record, a missed playoffs, and the thought of losing Love somewhat makes us forget that this team accomplished this past season. 14? games with a 30+ point lead which led the NBA by a wide margin. A ton of close losses, growth of Rubio (the scoring mentality was starting to come out a bit more as the season progressed, but more so I think he's finally realizing that he's ready to be a leader). Etc. Advanced statistics say the Wolves record based on their stats was an anomaly and not accurate as to their true talent. One could say we lack a closer and that's part of the reason we lost so many close games, but a little bump in talent overall along with some better luck would overcome that.
If the Wolves hold onto Love next year and go 50-32, does he still leave?

Wow Cam you don't have us picking Stauskas in any of those scenarios... What happened?

Re: Off-Season Options
Nice list Cam. I like the idea of keeping Love, the #13, and minor trades of Barea and/or Shved, MLE on Blake would be ok with me.
A. I don't trust the Wolves to make the right pick at #1
B. I don't want any more Syracuse guys so no to Waiters (still don't understand the love for Waiters on here)
C. Never liked Varejao
Hockey, yes I think 50 wins keeps him here, but there has to be a slight power shift to the East to get us a 6 seed next year which I think it somewhat realistic.

I don't think there are enough letters in the alphabet to cover all the options...

What happened is I can see Stauskas going as high as No. 5 to Utah and can't see how he slips past Denver at 11. Obviously if he's there, it's a no brainer.

I love this trade it makes us better IMO..The 2nd team would be Blake/Maritn/Brewer/MC/Dieng<<<Thats pretty damm nice... And the starting lineup even looks better then last year to me ....Add in a new HC i see no reason why this team would not make playoffs..... But why would GS do this?

This is like the 5th time I've seen someone trying to trade for a pick 5 years out, it makes absolutely zero sense to me. Even if you're hoping GS isn't as good by 2019 the pick would most likely have some protection so if they are bad we wouldn't get the pick until even later; if they're good we'd get a mediocre first round pick just like we could next year. Until someone can explain why people prefer a pick that far in the future I'll keep asking why, in my opinion it's a stupid idea when we could just as easily get a pick in 2015.
Re: Off-Season Options
Should there be a trade Ricky option or is that just completely off the table for people at this point?
