Thompson averaged 11 or 12 and 9 last year. He's been in the league longer as well. I'd take the younger prospect who has better scoring potential than the 12/9 guy who really has no upside. Bennett and D Will were two very different players in college. D Will used his athleticism to beat guys where Bennett used power. Bennett is clearly a 4 with his length where D Will was always tweener. Thompson is just not that good. 12/9 are good numbers off the bench, but not when getting starters minutes. Bennet is more versatile on offense and that is a better fit next to Dieng than Thompson whi doesn't have much of an offensive arsenal.
Last year was the first year Thompson switched his shooting hand from right to left. So his shooting will improve as time goes on?? Not really sure how fast changes like that happen but he did do pretty well with only one offseasons time. I also don't know if he ever switched back during the season, I just remember that being a story last offseason and didnt really keep up with it so Im not too sure
The only way I trade Love tbh is for that #1 pick, and only because it is this draft and it may be the only way the league ever lets us have the #1 pick. :furious:

I am trying to understand how a player two inches shorter and a slightly shorter wingspan is clearly a 4 with his length while the other is a tweener. The only reason Bennett isn't a tweener is because he has no chance to guard SF's in the NBA. I don't have a problem taking a chance with him, but he is definitely an undersized 4.
They're both 6'8 with 7'1 wingspans. The 7'1 wingspan allows Bennett to play the 4. Williams meanwhile had the athleticism to play both in college but not nearly the post game to play the 4 like Bennett had in college. I don't get where you found that Bennett was only 6'6.

To be honest, neither of them have a post game. Neither are great shooters either. Bennett reminds me of Williams way too much. I'll take the 12/9 guy who provides good defense as well instead of the overpaid, unproductive prospect.
I really dont want to trade love and i believe we can actually maneuver to get some help here and have a chance to make the playoffs next season with love if we make the right moves.
However, This thing has really blown up and unless love says that he dont want to be traded, likes the team we have right now and believes we can make it to the playoffs with the right moves and is committed to play this season as a wolf, then this issue wont die down and will follow the team all season long and be a distraction.
The longer he remains silent on this tells me there is some truth that he wants out. Of all the possible scenarios, Love to cavs for #1 pick is the best deal for us. Not sure love will want to commit to the cavs though, but with kyrie there and ability to resign deng and other young pieces, he might give it some consideration. Bucks and sixers wont trade for love with #2 and 3 because no chance love will commit to them.
