While Klay is certainly a good player, I feel he is vastly overrated on this board. He is the poster child for a 1 trick pony type of player. He is a scorer, who provides little else. I have heard many say he is a great defender, but I have yet to see it. Not bad, but nothing that stands out to me. And he is near the league bottom of SG for rebounding, steals and assists. He is the definition of a very good role player. He doesn't create for anyone, doesn't change the game with his defense, and is heavily dependant on Curry loosening the defense to allow him to shoot at will. He should still thrive as a scorer with a guy like Rubio, but he brings very little else to the table.
I bring this up because I too believe, as Cam says, that if they have a shot at Love, Thompson will NOT be off the table for long. While a solid player, Klay is not a player that can carry a team, IMO. I would probably also shoot for Thompson/Lee/Green or Barnes sending back Love/Bud/Barea. Not a bad deal.
Personally, I like the Celtics and Bulls ideas the most, with the Cavs idea being a step behind. Anything that moves him to the East > keeping him in the already loaded West. For GS, Klay will be on his last remaining year, so we'd just be in the same position next year. Oh, and again, the idea of building a powerhouse that we'd have to face if we ever made it anywhere... Camden has the only logical trade offer, but I don't think it'd be a great idea for us long-term.
The initial Boston trade idea by Northernhoops is a good one, and Boston is definitely a place I could see Love wanting to sign long-term. He'd get plenty of media attention, play for a team with a lot of history, and a team that could make a huge leap in a terrible East. I think I'd attempt for Olynyk over Green though. Green doesn't do much for me. We already have a ton of players at SF, and I believe he's overpaid for what he is. Olynyk, Sullinger, #6, and #17 for Love and Barea would be my offer to Boston. I do doubt they'd be any better than we are in Love's eyes with us getting those pieces from them. Next step would be shopping Pekovic and Budinger for a SG and backup PG, maybe to the Bucks for Mayo, Wolters, future pick?

The Chicago trade is also something to look into. I read a piece online along the lines of this ... a three team deal between MN/CHI/(ORL,76ers/BOS) with the third team being a team with 2 firsts in this draft.
For example: With CHI and BOS...
MN would receive Gibson, Butler, CHI 16, CHI 19, BOS 17 ... CHI receives Love, Budinger, Barea ... BOS receives Boozer.
I like this trade as we bolster our defense, fill a need in a true SG, and add some future potential and many options with the draft picks. #13 - Payne ; #16 Hairston ; #17 McDaniels/Napier/trade for future ; #19 Napier/McDaniels/trade for future
In my opinion, this trade is the most likely. Chicago could afford to do this trade, and still get Love to sign a long-term deal. I don't see it that way with any other team. Chicago would have to grab a few pieces, but they could become an instant favorite with a healthy Rose. Rose, Love, and Noah together sends Miami scrambling this offseason.
While I'm not convinced Love will be traded, I found this Milt Newton comment somewhat telling:

Now that the process is over and basically I know we will be contacted by some teams with high picks or what they have to put into trades and things like that, so this is a process that helps facilitate the other parts of the process going forward. As we come up to the draft, we have to do our due diligence for the players we bring in for the workouts. We need to keep doing our background work to see if there's anything that would prevent us from selecting them. But at this time, we know what the players can do, who they are, their strengths and their weaknesses.

Not true (but maybe you know more about it than I do, I don't dig that deep into rules like this), they can trade their 2015 pick after the draft. As far as I know once a draft is over that year is done with, meaning that their only obligation is a 2017 pick. Consecutive years for that obligation would be 2016 or 2018 which means we could get their 2015 pick. If I'm understanding the rules correctly a team could theoretically trade away a first round pick every year as long as they don't trade one more than a year in the future.
