Being as Gorgui is likely rookie of the month again....
his chances of winning rookie of the year are higher than anyone realize
I'm excited to see the final tally I bet he gets quite a few votes, the other rookies have been so bad that some of the voters won't even give a shit that Dieng didn't get minutes until late in the season.

I think it's Oladipo's award to win, but Dieng has a strong case even without playing as many games.

It's going to difficult to pick a ROY this year without plugging your nose. Camden says VO, but he didn't make his team better, didn't shoot well, and turned the ball over 3.2 times a game. Many would say MCW because of his 16.6 PPG and 6.2 APG, but he led his team to a historic loss streak, and shot the ball worse and turned the ball over more than VO. There's just nobody with significant minutes worthy of the award this year.
Call me deluded if you want (many have before), but if Adelman had trusted his rookies at all, I think we would have a great thread going now about whether Shabazz or Big G was going to win ROY...right next to the thread about who we wanted to face in the playoffs.
Do you think my comment about Bazz and Gorgei battling it out for ROY is silly? Not if you look at the stats. We all know what G contributed on defense, but who would have pegged him for a 16.49 PER...higher than the guys in the running for ROY. And Muhammad? Last time I checked, the game is still all about buckets, and no rookie approached Bazz's .5 points per minute played. But was it efficient, you ask? Try to find another rookie non-big man who shot 46% from the field (Spoiler...you can't!).
So ROY is up in the air and will be won by someone who didn't play very well or lead his team to victories...my guess is MCW. And I also predict that Rick Adelman will receive no votes for COY :furious: .

Easy. It should be Mason Plumlee.

I thought you were joking at first, q, because 7 PPG doesn't usually mean ROY, but he'll be in the running with his 18.5 PER. Can't see him winning though.

Long, He's also put up easily the best WS/48 of all the rookies, and that to me is probably the best overall metric for box-score production. But even more importantly, he's been one of the key guys that has helped Brooklyn turn their season around. He is ridiculously efficient and has become a solid defensive presence in the middle.

You've opened my eyes, q. The numbers and Big Apple visibility help him, but ultimately the lack of WOW factor drops him. I don't like his game, but my money's on MCW.

Gorgui Dieng > Kelly Olynyk > Mason Plumlee

Plumlee has had a nice season making a difference on a playoff team. Dieng is putting up some numbers that it getting him noticed. Double his current averages and you have about a double double in less than 27 minutes and he didn't even get rolling until a few weeks ago. MCW has gone on a nice roll the last 5 games almost averaging a double double and has his FG% over 40% again. He is putting up the stats which is what usually get these guys the awards and really nobody else has done enough to take that away from him even if its on a bad team. He is tied for 59th in the nba in rebs per game. Basically he is putting up Lebron numbers except the shooting percentages. lololololol Look that team is pretty awful when Thad Young (nice player, but...) is probably by far the best player on your team...man you are gonna suck alot. How the Bucks have been able to be even worse may be the story of the season. j/k lol bottom line is with the options i have I'd vote for MCW, but its one of the most meaningless awards in sports so it doesn't really matter and this class yikes its brutal.
