Exactly, cam...it's an unusual bit of good fortune for this snakebitten franchise to see a late pick with such potential. You got to hand it to Flip on this one. Many experts say Dieng wouldn't have lasted until our later first round pick, so Flip turning pick 9 into Muhammad and Dieng looks like an A+ draft to me right now...especially in such a weak draft. It's astonishing really, and I don't think he is getting enough credit.

I agree that Dieng has been fantastic, but people are forgetting how good Pek is, the one thing I love about Pek is he gets the opposing team in so much foul trouble and we get in the bonus early in the quarter. I think they can complement each other, I think it was a blessing in disguise that Pek got hurt, Dieng is for real, but I don't think we should get rid of Pek just because, we need a all star caliber player back for Pek and I don't know if we could. I now think Pek would be great addition towards our bench, and we now have become a very scary team, he can be like our sixth man and he would not have as much strain on his body.

Been right there with you, LST. Pre-draft I was seriously considering (not like I have any say anyway) drafting Dieng at nine overall. That's how highly I thought of him. Instead we got even more than that. Kudos to Flip in his first draft.

I agree with your point, kek, about Peks' ability to get opponents in foul trouble being a good asset. I'm not sure as I see it as much of a balance to all the other facets of the game in which it appears Dieng is superior. I agree Pek would be a fabulous scorer off the bench, but I want Dieng to regularly get upper 30s in minutes. That
leaves 10 minutes for Pek, and we can't afford to have $12 million invested in a bit player. Alternatively, we can split the minutes between Pek and Dieng, which I see as hurting the team, or try to play them together, which I
see as extremely unlikely.

+1, I mean I am not opposed to trading Pek, but stop acting like Pek is not good,

It's the fact that Pek IS good that has people talking about trading him. Pek has value and could potentially bring back the type of wing they're sorely missing, one that could put the team solidly into the playoffs! What else outside of Love and Rubio do they have that can bring back quality talent? Unlike with Pek we obviously don't have anyone ready to step in for Love or Rubio. Changes have to be made and unfortunately Pek is the best asset to get what they need.

What's the LEAST you would take for Pek?

Deing has been great, but I think guys get kind of caught up in the moment and have pretty short memories.

Just a quick reminder, here are Pek's January stats

19.4 points
9.2 boards
55% FG
83% FT
1.2 assists
.07 blocks

in under 30 minutes a game. You don't just get rid of a guy like that. I'd pay 12 million for those numbers

I have to agree with those have said they have seen enough to say Dieng can and maybe should be the starter next year. That being said, with Pek starting this year we were one of the best 1st quarter teams in the league. So at least in the 1st quarter there may not be a reason to fix what isn't broken.

The 4th quarter is a different story though: it's all about getting stops (something we couldn't do this year) and hitting clutch shots (Gorgui has already proved he can make a big shot under pressure). So no doubt Gorgui is the guy you want on the court playing the majority, if not all of the 4th quarter. So actually with Pek starting this rotation could work out well.

No doubt though you listen to all offers for Pek, and if the right offer presents itself you take it and don't look back.

I love Pek's stats, especially because I hope another team will love Pek's stats and be willing to pay for them. I agree that those are great numbers, alex, but they weren't good enough to beat the Miamis and Houstons of the league. You win with defense, and it's clear that Pek doesn't provide enough.

Our first quarter dominance continues, even with Pek on the bench. To me it is mostly due to Rubio. Last night Ricky led us to 39 first quarter points teamed up with Dieng, Brewer, Dante and Hummel!
