This is a good read. I know a lot of us are disappointed in adelman's performance this season but the guy is one of the better coaches in league history.
Good rick adelman article
Re: Good rick adelman article
I know people have been frustrated by Adelman this year, but I really think we will be lucky to get a coach thats as good as him next year. Its really too bad that he is older and his wife is having health problems. I think if it was a few years earlier he would be a great coach for this team. I think its time for him to enjoy the rest of his life now and he is truly deserving of the accolades in this article and more. IMO
Its going to be really interesting to see how this plays out with some many Adelman folks working for the team and I saw on Twitter someone said he has something in his contract that said his last year he can be a consultant on the team which makes you wonder if they are planning on promoting someone from within the Adelman circle.

A nice article about a nice man who, at one time, was an excellent coach. What we found out this year is that coaching an NBA team is an exhausting process that requires full attention. I feel badly for Rick that he has struggled with coping with his wife's physical issues, and badly for Wolves fans that his inattention was a major factor in another lost season.
I agree that we are not likely to find a new coach equal to Adelman when he was in his prime. But whatever coach replaces him next year is certain to be an improvement over this year.
Re: Good rick adelman article
While we expected more, I am glad the Adelman will be able to say "I helped move this team in the right direction, reaching .500 for the first time in a decade." He can exit on a positive note.
The consultant bit is nice way for him to "remain a part of the turn around", but I sure as hell hope that doesn't mean Terry Porter is promoted to head coach. That would make me gag!

Well said tim.
I agree that we should not promote any of his assistants to head coach. I think we are ready for a new regime. I do hope we keep sikma as assistant though. I think he has done a good job as our big man coach. Wont mind if david adelman is retain as well.
