I'd trade down to 5 and take Exum

Randle > Embiid

My opinion.

To each his own cam. I just hope that if we are in that position, flip will make the right call and grab the best player available. Dont try to get too cute in trading down or anything, unless its a legit star dont trade the pick if we got lucky.

I was debating that. What if he did trade down and pick up Afflalo plus a lottery pick in this scenario? We're trying to win and keep our current star. We could get a piece for the future while making the current product better.

I guess it would depend on what Flip thought about Dieng as well.

I am oppose to that thought cam. If we got lucky and land the 3rd pick then we draft the best player available and don't think about trading down for affalo and the 9th pick. I believe this to be a strong draft and we have at least 5 players that has huge potentials to be perennial all star talent. Affalo had a strong year but a top 3 pick in this draft is too much to give up on him and the 9th pick.

You take Embiid and be thankful that we have the depth to bring him along slowly to prevent any major back injuries from needing to be used over 30 minutes a night right off the bat on a bad team. Legit 7 footers who have his footwork and touch are a rare find. Bring him along slowly and he and Love could be a dominant frontcourt for years to come. I would say if Embiid's back really brings up some red flags during the physicals, then Vonleh would be #2 on my big board at that point. He would give us Love insurance and his ceiling is a Bosh like player which could play either the 4 or 5 (more 4 early in the career and 5 later). I don't like Randle's two-way potential as a 6'8, stocky 4 and you have to get a two-way guy with a top 3 pick in this draft (minus Jabari because the kid can flat-out score from anywhere which is rare in a prospect these days). I think Randle will be a good player, but I would rather take the guy with the higher defensive potential even if it means sacrificing some offensive talent in the long-run.

Wiggins and just Wiggins. I'll be honest, for this team, I don't like this draft very much. It just doesn't have what we need and we can't add talent in this draft without giving up on the talent we already have.

Wiggins - he's a 3 though perhaps a move to SG is possible.

Parker, probably better than Muhammad, but he's a true 3. If we add a Parker, that's 2 SF's in Parker and Muhammad that can't defend.

Embiid- high potential, but is he worth dumping perhaps BOTH Pek and Dieng? Not sure.

Exum- LOVE this kid, but I think he's a PG. I don't see him as a SG. We have Rubio.

Randle- simply not good enough to cost us BOTH Love and Pek. If Randle comes here to replace Love, we'd have to replace Pek as well since Randle and Pek do not compliment each other.

Vonleh = SOFT. Stay away from him at all costs.

McDermott- can shoot, but he's Love without the rebounding.

Kyle Anderson = LOVE Kyle and has at least played alongside Shabazz, but he was a PG there. He won't be that here.

Smart- can't shoot

Hood = sucks

Grant, Ennis = both Syracuse guys. PASS.

Gordon = tweener.

The only guys that have a definitive fit for us in this draft are Gary Harris at starting SG and Adreian Payne at backup PF.

Who I think each of the top 8 players are similar to
Wiggins- Paul George, athleticism, mediocre jumper, and great defensive potential.
Parker-Melo, flat out scorer, but will struggle on D
Embiid- Anthony Davis, Elite Rim Protector and signs of some post game
Exum-Westbrook less explosiveness, but makes up for it in size and is still very fast. Poor jump shot however
Randle- Zach Randolph, bruiser, undersized for PF
Vonleh- Bosh, as WildWolf said "Soft" but so is Bosh, could potentially be stretch 4
Gordon- Faried/Thaddeus Young Athleticism, Defense, and Rebounding, but is a tweener
Smart- Rondo Slasher and Play maker, potential triple double machine, but poor jumper

I could go on longer but I figured I'd save that for more draft oriented threads. The point is that I think moving forward, guys like Dieng, Muhammad, Rubio, Pek, and this pick MUST be the main focal points moving forward (or Love if he stays and then Pek goes). What I don't wanna see is a repeat of what happened in 2008 where we wound up with Love but after a year it really made Al Jefferson's days here numbered.

more than that, what I really don't want for this team is to draft someone whose heart and mental toughness is up for debate.

if those guys are gone and we have the 3rd pick you take embiid and trade pek. Love would have a good defensive big paired with him at all times and pek could net us a decent wing.

I would take Exum. I think you take the best wing since they have the biggest impact.

I really would like to know more about Exum.

I take Smart at 3 if Wiggins and Parker are gone. Our 2nd team woes would be solved instantly, plus I think Ricky could use the competition at this point and think we could have some interesting 3 quarter sets playing Smart and Ricky together. I kind of like us sitting at 13 now because I have this feeling someone is going to drop. I personally hope it's Gordon. His athleticism would be sick next to Ricky.
