Find me another point guard that plays LIKE Ricky does now and didn't get better. There's a reason Jason Kidd is the go to (Rondo too sometimes) comparison because not many of them see the floor and play the game like they do. If you have a list of PGs that were as talented as Ricky, produced like he's produced and still never improved... I'll wait for the names you give me.

Jamaal Tinsley, Brevin Knight, even Nate McMillian

None of these guys are anywhere near comparable. Stop it.

So its understandable to be hesitant about his ability to turn into a franchise player. Not saying he cant but let me flip this around. Make a list of pgs that shot as poorly and turned into great players. Ill wait for that list too.
It should be understood at this point that defenses have no respect for Rickys ability to shoot the ball. So with that being said hes been shooting the ball basically wide open and still hasnt made marketed improvements.

You're making statements that are misleading and in some cases inaccurate. While Ricky is a poor 2pt shooting player, his TS% isn't anywhere close to the bottom, and that is what ultimately matters. His 3pt % is actually decent, and his so called wide open shots occur continually for every team in the league due to defensive rotations. Please point out one possession when Ricky brought the ball up and was left unguarded. It never happens. He gets open looks because of rotations, just like every other player in the league. Stop regurgitating what some misinformed hack reporter has copied and pasted from the dozen articles before his.

Ricky needs to improve his midrange game, and developing a consistent floater would make him a franchise player. He excels at every other part of the game.

I believe Ricky has the skills to always have a job somewhere in the NBA but the Wolves need more than serviceable from him.

Do you have some defining evidence that a 16 year old develops his shot quicker playing on a Euro team as compared to playing in HS. I would expect the exact opposite due to Ricky not playing as much, and clearly not getting anywhere near the shots, as well as playing against tougher defenses. Why do you think they send players to summer league and the D-League?

All three averaged at least 8 assists/game, 1.7 steals/game, 7 points/game over their first 3 years. All three posted a win shares/48 better than Ricky's career high over their first 3 years. You asked for comparisons and then just shoot them down when they turn out to not be very good players.

Brevin Knight and Jamaal Tinsley may not be fair comparisons for a career... both had significant and recurring injury issues. Tinsley was on a great trajectory his first two years, then was injured during the third year and afterwards only had one season with more than 42 games... and some other issues. Also, he came in at 23, not 21 like Ricky. Knight similarly had injury issues from year 4 on.

Nate is a much fairer comparison because he also rebounded like Ricky. I know we won't be satisfied if Ricky plateaus at a McMillan level, but Nate was a very solid player over his career, just not someone you build around.

I agree, I think Rubio will be better than all 3. The question was just for players that started similarly, but didn't turn into Jason Kidd. And yes, McMillan was pretty similar to a past-his-prime Jason Kidd, which is a guy you still want on your team.

Knight was a guy I thought of right away. 2 things Ricky has over Knight is Ricky can actually hit a 3 pointer (Knight made 16 HIS ENTIRE CAREER) and he is almost a foot taller as well. Knight was a nice little player though but the fact that he was small had a hard time staying healthy and couldn't hit a three were big problems.
