Any interest in Danny Granger?

Post by twolf2124 [enjin:6650829] »

I would think he would be a guy that could help us out. But maybe he has zero interest in coming here when the Spurs and Clippers are pining for him.

I don't want him. I want Shabazz to get minutes. Plus, I think it's a done deal that he ends up with LAC or SAS.

Shabazz has one good game and all of a sudden he's a better option than Danny Granger? That's crazy talk. But I agree it sounds like he's headed to the Spurs or Clips. I just wish we would be aggressive when someone like that is available because we don't have many options as far as being able to add quality players around KLove.

Can we develop a rookie instead of adding a past-his-prime player looking for his last payday next year? It's not even a question of "is Granger better than Muhammad" in my opinion. It's about the future outlook of this team. We have got to develop our draft picks if we want to have any kind of success moving forward. Shabazz needs the minutes; he needs to get his confidence up. What would have happened had Love never been given PT like Rambis intended? I'm not saying those two are similar in pure talent, but why would I be in favor of adding another wing to take away from Shabazz's development? There's no reason why Shabazz can't be a quality player around Love.

I agree we need to develop talent. But Granger, who is only 30 years old, wouldn't cost that much after his buyout and might be worth the risk. If we are trying to make a playoff push he is the type of player we need in the lineup. If he's healthy. If Shabazz is the answer and he's just been riding the pine the whole season, thats another issue all together. I just don't know if he is.

moot point. A buyout guy will never sign with a team in the standings the wolves are. Also Granger and Love hate each other.

Only 30 years old? That's a worn down, injury-prone body that's past his prime. Granger wasn't even contributing that much this year anyway now that I look at his stats. 8.3 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 1.1 APG. 36% FG, 33% 3P.

You don't think Shabazz can average at LEAST that given adequate minutes? Please. Even Shabazz is shooting 39% from the floor and I have no doubt in my mind that he's the better rebounder of the two.

Shabazz might not be the answer this year for this team, but he is a part of the future. Got to get him going. Granger does nothing for this team except take away minutes from one of our rookies.

I initially thought signing Granger would make sense. But I'm persuaded by others on this board that we're better off long term giving Shabazz the minutes that would otherwise go to Granger. In any event, I doubt Granger would sign here anyway.

The guy to sign is Jimmer. We should buy out Hummel or Price and sign Jimmer for the rest of this season if he becomes available.
