Could we get 2 Van Gundy's for the price of 1? Tired Rick has checked out and is counting the days until sweet retirement.

Porkchop, I think why folks are in better spirits is that a) we've won 4 out of our last 5 games, b) two of those wins were against formidable opponents in Indiana and Phoenix, c) we've done this without two key players, and d) we're seeing more contributions from the rookies.

Now all that positive energy can go down the toilet with another late game collapse or disappointing loss to a bad team, but it does feel like the team has a bit of momentum behind it.

We've shown this year (ok the first 20-30 games) how we can dominate bad teams and compete with good teams with this roster. If our bench keeps showing improvement the rest of the year, why try and bring in someone else just for the sake of difference?

Lloyd, that is not what Lip said. Read it again, and I think you might see his point. I believe Lip is stating that we had Bud and Dante on our team last season. Then he is stating that the 50+ games we have played this year is a much better measuring stick than the last ten. Bud played 23 games last season.

This was a .500 ball club before the injuries, and is a .500 ball club after the injuries. If this tells us anything, it is that we overpaid Pek, and Bud. Neither being out of the lineup has affected the team in the W/L column.

Ok SJM, yes I misread that sentence. Honestly, I think everyone in this league is overpaid, but I see your point. I just think we might be starting to see some offensive efficiency off the bench with Bud and Bazz together.

It gives me hope that with a couple starters down, we can still stay at .500. And I suspect with our injury prone team, this will happen more than we want in the next 3 years.
