I've liked what I've seen from Shabazz recently. He has clearly been working very hard in practice. Somebody called him "another D-Will", but D-Will was lacking in some combination of "motor" and "IQ". I don't see those lacking in Bazz...

Unfortunately, Adelman has his pecking order, and he is stubborn to change it.

We should be courting Hollins to coach this team for the remainder of the season. Kids are playing ball at the college and he Adelman could step down due to family issues. Or Flip could just tell Adelman if Hummel steps foot on the court before Shabazz he is sending Hummel to the D-League for the rest of the season.

It's easy to see why Adelman isn't playing bazz. It's the same reason why he didn't play Dwill. He doesn't pass the ball at all. The only time I've seen him pass the ball after he's touched it was on a fastbreak where he pretty much had to. And you want him taking shots from Love by playing with him? Come on

In a way, I understand why Adelman doesn't play Shabazz. Adelman is a traditionalist who believes in sharing the ball, and Muhammad is the opposite. I get frustrated with him sometimes when his entire focus seems to be on scoring the basketball. He talked in preseason about learning to be a better passer, but it's just not in his DNA. Shabazz is a scorer...period. And he does it well. I don't believe there is any other rookie who has scored more points per minute (admittedly in a very small sample size) because that is what he does...what he always has done. We need a coach who can appreciate what Muhammad does.

FREE MUHAMMAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like we posted at the same time. I agree with your assessment of why Adelman doesn't play Muhammad, but I think there were other reasons he didn't like Williams (he DID play him, after all). I think he thought Williams didn't work hard enough.

And no, I don't want Shabazz taking shots away from Love. Love will always score more efficiently than Shabazz. That's why I see Muhammad's role as instant offense off the bench. Our first team works well together and scores as well as any starting five. Where we need help is bench scoring, and Muhammad is made for that kind of role.

Th only reason he is not passing it is because he never gets to play. I would do the same thing if I only got to play every 10th game. I would get as many points in the 2 mins left in a blowout. Unless I was a PG or had no ability to score.

That may be a factor, Brandon, but I can tell you based on watching Shabazz a lot in college, he just doesn't pass much. His disinclination to pass is probably accentuated by his lack of minutes and desire to prove himself though.

You play for a coach who's offense is predicated upon ball movement and you're not getting as much playing time as you would like. Do you:

A. Never pass the ball no matter how many of your teammates are open and shoot every single time you get your grubby fingers on it?
B. Attempt to fit your game into the offense the other four guys on the floor with you are playing while also giving great effort on the defensive end?

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think playing an isolation game for a couple of garbage minutes every few games is what is going to get him regular minutes.
