If Shabazz started I and Martin was healthy I would have Martin be the first option off the bench.

Rubio/Brewer/Shabazz/Love/Pekovic
Shved/Martin/Budinger/Cunningham/Turiaf

Please sign Fredette for the rest of the season. I would love to give him a chance to add us shooting to this team.

You can't have Rubio/Brewer/Shabazz starting and my reason is because there's not enough 3P shooting on the floor. They can play together at times, sure, but I'd make it a concerned effort to have Brewer/Shabazz always on the floor with Martin/Bud. I also wouldn't put Martin and Bud on the floor together for long stretches either due to the defensive situation it would put us in (on offense = very nice).

Gotta have a wing duo of shooting/defense & rebounding. Martin/Brewer, Brewer/Bud, Martin/Muhammad, Bud/Muhammad. I wouldn't stray away from that unless it was situational/end of game type deal.

To follow my last post, it's ideal to have two-way players at both wing positions. 3P shooting and defense in one player. This is something we know nothing about, though. Sigh...

Let's take a chill pill on Shabazz for now. He had one very good game. Adelman needs to keep finding ways to get him minutes off the bench, which I suspect he'll do as his confidence grows in him.

Longer term, the key to Shabazz's success will be outside shooting and defense. If he can become a 3&D guy to go along with his post-up game and rebounding, he truly could be our long-term solution at starting SF. But we're obviously not there yet and need to see a lot more from him.

It is always a good problem to have if you have two people who can do something well. The area we should be more concerned about is how their weaknesses mesh. I think Shabazz's motor, build and length could allow him to be a really effective defender. Time will tell though.
