The Lakers suck balls. BUT...

Post by AbeVigodaLive »

Their bench is 10 - 13 behind the arc right now.

59 points.
21 - 29 fg overall.

And it's only the 3rd quarter.

I remember them doing that in their opener against the Clippers too, but it's been a long dry spell since. Living here in la-la land, the high point of this dismal Wolves season for me has been watching the Lake Show battle Utah for the Western Conference cellar...beautiful!

I remember pre-season when people were arguing with me that the Lakers wouldn't suck and that they'd compete for a playoff spot...

Good call guys.

Because you clearly saw that Nash wouldn't make it back and that Kobe would re-injure himself.

Weren't you arguing the wolves were going get the 6th seed. The wolves were one of the heatlthier teams this year, and still couldn't get themselves beyond being a .500 team. Good call Cam!

I assume you were one of those who argued in the Lakers favor, sjm? I do remember you had the Pelicans as the 6th seed, though. So there's that.

I've never said that I'm 100% right all the time, but damn it, I am right more often than not. That's not what this is about, though. It's that pre-season it was evident that LA had the worst roster they've ever had and people fell into the "Kobe can carry them" trap even though he was coming back from the worst basketball injury you can suffer (torn achilles). It was never a sure thing that he'd even return to the court as the same Kobe and guess what, he wasn't even close. As I argued pre-season, Nash isn't as good of a player anymore as his name sounds. Nash was a big reason why that "super team" last year didn't work out. Why should anyone have thought his impact would be reversed even if healthy? While he was efficient on offense, he didn't produce enough to make up for his NBA-worst defense.

It's okay, though. The Lakers have been awful, but a lot of people saw this coming by looking at the names on their roster and understanding the severity of an achilles injury.

With all of this said, I've become a fan of Jodie Meeks because of this season. He's really turned himself into a good NBA player.
