Dieng is dominating again, dude has elite potential
Re: Dieng is dominating again, dude has elite potential
There are reports that Glen taylor ready to give out the 5 yrs max player contract for dieng even before his rookie season ended.
Hes top 5 center in history already, david robinson, alonzo morning, ewing and shaq, walton got nothing on gorgui! Just replace jj and we will be good!
Ps. Hakeen and Steve nash both has soccer background and were superstars and now dieng is on his way.

I just watched a few recent Dieng highlights and some of the things he is doing on offense are actually things Pek does well only Dieng is a different athlete so it looks much different. Screen and going to the rack the little fakes to get guys up in the air or enough hesitation to get space etc. I am sure working against Pek the past few months has helped Dieng in that area. One guy I hope we keep around is Sikma I think he is a guy thats done some good work with the bigs. Maybe its not him, but he got alot of credit for working with Pek although I think Bayno got some credit at well.
I wanted Dieng more than any player in last year's draft and well that looks pretty great, but lets be honest there wasn't many guys to get really excited about last year imo.
I think you hold onto Pek unless you get a deal you just can't turn down becasue IO think Diang and Pek can play minutes together and you know it would be nice to have 2 good centers instead of basically one and if that guy gets hurt or in foul trouble...we are screwed. Hopefully we can find more wing help in the draft. Bottom line is if Dieng lives up to what I was hoping he is going to be HUGE for this team and part of what this team needed so badly to move forward whether thats the team's center with out without Pek. At some point moving Pek my need to happen, but I am ok with playing it out a while. I think he is gonna have tons of value if he is relatively healthy. Basically what I think we have forgotten is that Pek is actually have his best statistical year of his career this year.

Lip I think it's a bit premature to put Dieng ahead of Shaq! Maybe by the end of the season though!

Monster - I was thinking about the coaching staff the other day and what happens when Adelman leaves. Sikma was the one guy that I found myself wanting to keep around.
As a whole, the assistant coaches have seemingly done a putrid job of helping Adelman through this season. Are they all just "YES" men, never questioning Adelman's whims?!? Or are they the root cause of the constantly changing rotations that don't work?
I do like Sikma, and the play of Pek, Turiaf, Love and Deing has been pretty darn good. So while I am ready to see wholesale changes in the coaching staff, Sikma is a keeper.

As much as I have enjoyed cheering for Pek the past few years, I really think Flip needs to be aggressive in dealing him to make this club better. I believe Pek's value is as high right now as it will ever be, coming off an excellent statistical year, and he remains the one valuable but expendable asset Flip can use. I'm inclined to agree that Pek, Diang and Love could be a powerful big man rotation, but it relegates one of them to "reserve" status, and reserves just don't bring as much in trade as starters. I don't think we want a Howard/Asik situation. If Houston had dealt Asik before the season started, they would have gotten a nice return for a consistent double double starter, but instead they were excited about how they could work together. It didn't work, and now they have a greatly diminished asset in Asik. I hope Flip doesn't make the same mistake. Pek's offensive stats would be very attractive to several teams that need a productive center, but we know he is a defensively-challenged guy who struggles to stay healthy.
I love Pek, but it time to move him and start Dieng.

Well, duh...of course Madsen is ahead of Shaq. Shaq didn't have the courage that Madsen had to take big 3-pointers late in games. Madsen was an end-of-game cold-blooded assassin.

Tim, I'm not going to pin the poor rotation choices on the assistant coaches. We don't know what conversations happen behind the scenes, so we can only speculate. But my speculation would be that Adelman is not the kind of guy who wants anyone questioning his decisions. And in the few instances where an assistant had to take over for Adelman in his absence, it would have been unprecedented for him to drastically change Adelman's rotations...just never happens that way.
I have always been a big Terry Porter fan, both as a player and as a coach, and I hope the new coach strongly considers keeping him on. He's a smart, hard-nosed high-quality guy, and you just can't have enough of those on the bench.

Did you guys know that there was actually a Space Jam 2? The aliens come back to earth looking for a rematch and they run into Deing. Scared to death, the aliens immediately try to retreat. Well damned if then Gorgi weak side blocked their entire spaceship back to their home planet which also somehow fixes global warming. The entire movie was only 1 minute and 45 seconds.

If Dieng has another good 5 game run u could already pencil him in as a top 3 Center all-time for the Wolves. :) How sad is that? The only thing close to as bad would be the top 3 sgs list.

Yeah, but he got a sweet assist from Ricky Rubio... who stole the show.
