Josh Giddey had 31 points 10 assists and 9 rebounds in a big play-in win on the road against a very good Pelicans team. I should mention that Giddey is only 20 years old and this was his first NBA play-in or playoff game. His performance sort of undermines my “Anthony Edwards is young” excuse last night.

Great night for Zach LaVine with 39 points and 6 rebounds. Great to see him succeed. He’s a great guy and fun to watch.

It’s fun to see the Thunder win that game. I watched part of both games last night as I was out to eat. There are a couple reasons I prefer to play OKC.

1. They are a young inexperienced team. The Wolves certainly aren’t a smart vet laden battle tested group but yeah.
2. Having to beat the Pelicans after having faced them so recently seemed more difficult.

OKC is a good basketball team. I did see Jonas really have a big impact in this game especially early on as I think he had 8 or 10 points in just the first quarter. Hopefully Gobert is relatively healthy and has a big intact on this game. Hopefully he isn’t too ramped up.

That was my thought, too, monster. The Wolves can easily lose to either team, but beating the Pelicans a second time within a week seems like the bigger challenge.

I agree Monster that it would be really tough to lineup against NO again and expect a win. But OKC has the best player on the floor in SGA and they are playing with house money at this point.

I fully expect a mental meltdown by our guys unfortunately. They'll all be pressing.

We handled OkC pretty easily this season, winning three out of 4...the only loss being the one where Rudy got tossed early for tripping a Thunder player. The Thunder are very small, and I expect us to dominate inside. Case in point, Gobert averaged 19/16 against them in the two full games he played against them. SGA is fun to watch and very good, and Giddey is also an interesting player. But their 3-point shooting isn't scary, and we will have an enormous size advantage. I think we are about 4 1/2 point favorites and I like our chances in this one...especially if Sab tees up the GDT!

That might be our only hope.

Tim, you did great work on this site and we are forever grateful, but stay the hell away from starting the game thread!

Here's how I would define Tim in Wolvesian basketball terms:

In forum migration, he's Kevin Garnett.

But in GDT creation, he's William Avery.

I think Tim has more GDT game than Will Avery unless you are talking that 1 start Avery had at PG when Marbury was sick and he actually looked like he was good. I’d say Tim is at the very least more like Hollywood Robinson!!! :)

Whoops. Undermined no more. Important to remember that Ant also had a very strong playoff series a year ago in his first time. Ant had a pros pro game tonight and will be playing on.
