Kat has played in 13 career playoff games. 6 of them he has scored 15 or less points.

I’m worried about what is Kat trade value. He is the big man version of Trae Young

It's not good. Everyone else sees what we see. If you were a GM are you looking at KAT and feeling like you have to make him your signature trade acquisition? No fanbase is sitting around this summer saying "man if we don't push our chips in for KAT, it might be time for this GM to go." At best it's "sure I guess but hopefully we don't trade too much."

I'm not saying this is what he'll get dealt for, but this is what I think KAT's value is. Just throwing this out there as an example:

KAT and Taurean Prince for RJ Barrett, Obi Toppin, Immanuel Quickley and 2 firsts, one of them being a heavily protected first from Detroit.

I think I watched about 5 minutes of this game early and then turned it off in disgust. Glad they tried to claw back in the 2nd half and it's nice to see that Ant got his swag back.

We'll see how things go at home. It's far from over, but these first two games were pretty discouraging.

KAT has more value starting over on a new team versus staying here. His tenure and salary make him a defacto leader here but he's too big of a loser. I just hope we do trade him before his stench wears off on anyone else too much (Ant and Jaden).

I think that despite him being a loser he can be a winner behind another superstar or stars. Maybe a team like Dallas, Portland, etc. Some place that has an entrenched star where KAT can be the 2nd or 3rd guy. I think he can function much better going forward and it's best for both parties.

Unless, of course, ANT elevates to the clear #1 so KAT can be the #2, which is kind of what we are witnessing. Let this series continue to unfold…

KAT because of his salary and tenure will have trouble accepting and fitting into that role here I think. If he starts over where a clear cut number one superstar exists like a Lillard or Doncic then he has no choice but to fall in line. Which I think helps him play a role that fits him better, trading KAT helps us recoup value for him and letting Ant grow into what he needs to be for us.

I felt like were going to win this one when we took the lead in the 4rd quarter...the ball was moving, Ant was cooking, KAT looked like he was going to show up, and NAW was doing a Jaden-like imitation on Murray. And then Porter Jr. happened. He had been so invisible most of the game, I honestly didn't know he was playing. And I wanted him to force that 3-pointer from the top of the key. But he made it and turned it into a 4-point play, and that seemed to take the wind out of our sails.

A lot of vitriol being directed toward KAT here, and I can't disagree...he cost us a win we really needed. You don't have much of a chance of winning if your (arguably) most important player has 2 more turnovers than shots made. I don't fault KAT's effort in this game, and I'm happy he has changed his court demeanor...we still rip him here for whining, but I don't think he is much of a whiner anymore. But he was terrible, and this loss is on him. We have little chance of winning 4 of the next 5 games anyway against this very good Nuggets team, but we have no chance if "regular season KAT" doesn't show up in all 5 games...and there is little evidence that he will. He will put up 28-14-5 in game 3 to show the world his potential, but then he will lay an egg in games 4 and 5 and we'll go home with a 4-1.

NAW is such a dichotomy. His effort and defense is consistently great, but I shudder every time he launches a 3-pointer that is contested in any way. I see him as a 50% 3-point shooter on open looks, and a 15% shooter when contested. He needs to take the open three by all means. But if there is a hand anywhere near his shot, you can be sure it's not going to turn out well. His 1 for 5 on threes hurt us last night, and my recollection is that his four misses were all contested. This is on Finchie. He needs to tell NAW that his job is to play elite defense, move the ball and take the open three...but only the open three.

So a disappointing finish to a game we could have won, but still a very entertaining third quarter and a brilliant game by Ant. A team missing its best wing defender and most productive bench player can't have very high expectations against a healthy #1 seed. I guess I should be feeling some optimism about what we did last night shorthanded, but the Porter Jr. 4-point play kind of ended the season for me.

I don't know...I think KAT wants to win, and if him becoming a #2 is key to that goal, I don't think he would have any problem with that at all. Let's not lose sight of the fact that KAT may be the best shooting 7 footer in the game, and also a decent rebounder. But the key to success for this team is acknowledging that Ant has to be our #1. But Ant needs to be better if he is going to succeed in this role. He is going to see a lot of double and triple teams, and he needs to get much better at finding the open man when this happens. Finding KAT, Jaden or Conley for an open three, or Rudy for a dunk, is cash money. But right now I give Ant a D- for his ability to make the right play when he is doubled. But he's only 21, and he will get better. I'm convinced we can have an elite offense once Ant establishes himself as a clear #1, and learns to find the open man when doubled.

I'm still convinced that it would be difficult for KAT to fit in here and take a passive role. Plus he has the stench of big game flop and loser on him. A fresh start would be ideal for both parties. Just look at KAT's playoff history here. Every other game is a flop. I just don't see him easily turning that around here, while a fresh start could help.
