Gobert and McDaniels for Ben Simmons?

Gobert and McDaniels for D. Robinson and K. Lowry?

You're joking, right? I wouldn't trade either Gobert or McDaniels straight up for Simmons or Robinson/Lowry, yet you are offering BOTH!?

I can’t see the Wolves trading Jaden period, let alone just to get off of Rudy. But I appreciate you putting pen to paper — I think anyone who does will find keeping both the big fellas is the likely outcome, at least for one more season.

You got to make salaries work so you really are going to have to accept only the worst possible players on big contracts back. You can't attach 1st rounders to Rudy either, so I see needing to attach McDaniels instead.

I'm sort of joking but I imagine both these teams (Brooklyn and Miami) would accept the offer if it was proposed.

That may be the case, as I just don't see him as this negative asset that must be unloaded for dead salary or a bunch of bench fodder.

A couple of really bad trade ideas.

Rudy to the Celtics for Horford, D. White and a future lottery-protected 1st. The Celtics might go for this if they fail to win it all this season and even more so if they don’t come out of the East. The Celtics have plenty of scoring in Tatum, Brown, Smart and Brogdon. I think Rudy fits well with the Celtics.

FWIW I’d do this trade without the 1st round pick coming back to us because Derrick White would be a nice get for the Wolves. I don’t think the Celtics do this trade though.

I’d also do the deal without the future 1st. But I’m convinced the Celtics would do that deal and still include at least a couple of 2nd round picks. Horford is 36 years old and although White was terrific for them, they have Smart and Brogdon. Meanwhile, Boston’s starting center, Robert Williams, can’t stay healthy. He played only 35 games this past season.

Yeah, White would be a very good get and it would add back one of our lost 1sts.

It does seem like the Celtics are going to need to get another pure Center at some point, although of all the positions to have a gap in, it's probably the easiest and cheapest to fill. You don't have to go all-in on a Rudy like we did last offseason.
