“Darkness retreat”?

Post by Sundog »

Ok… what in the world is this about? 64 hours in total darkness to bring about “altered states of consciousness”? In my youth, I could get to those altered states in about an hour with a little medicinal help 😜

I propose we start a go fund me to send Lip to Oregon to do some on-site reporting for us at Sky Cave Retreats, get to the bottom of this. A list of questions that need to researched includes, does 64 hours of darkness improve eye-hand coordination? Footspeed? Free throw percentage?

No need for Lip to go to Oregon...they have several darkness retreats in Minnesota too!

Rudy is an odd one, that's for sure.

Rudy is big on psychadelics as far as I can ascertain, as well as alternative, "new age" health and wellness. He was citing Terrance McKenna in one of his instagram posts right when he joined the team, and frequently shows pictures of his magic crystals and his cat. I think this darkness retreat is just building on his practice. A little strange but if it makes him happy all the power to him.

I think I’ve been in total darkness since last July when the Gobert deal was announced. :)

I guess when you're paid as well as Rudy you wouldn't even think of just closing the curtains and turning off the lights for a couple days.

I’m imagining Rudy has a massive framed painting in his house Faux Pelini style.

I think you have been getting out and about too much for that. To claim that you need to stay in more. Lol

When I was younger I did do some spelunking. I enjoyed it back then but I don’t think I would enjoy it as much now. I’m bigger, less flexible and have more anxiety about whether I would eventually get out.

I’m all seriousness spending 64 hours in a dark cave…I could see it being worthwhile if for no other reason to just get away from everything. I would need lots of food though. I’m not gonna be hibernating in there. It would be funny if Gobert spent his retreat in one of the hobbit cottages. He is definitely not a hobbit. It’s hard not to roll your eyes when someone does this because Aaron Rodgers did it and then says whatever stuff. I just can’t take Rodgers seriously anymore.

Has anyone done one of those floating pod experiences where it’s also in the dark?

Edit: So…anyone got some land they want to build some of these hobbit cottages? Sounds like a great investment opportunity.
