Good points in both posts, Q. I especially like your point about NAW helping Naz out defensively as part of the second unit. There’s such a big different defensively between Nowell and NAW. TC said from the moment the season ended that he wanted to re-sign Naz and that’s what he did. He has also indicated the desire to re-sign NAW. I expect him to follow through on that desire as well and I don’t anticipate any other teams offering NAW more than $5 or $6 million next season.

One thing I found interesting was how much playing time Finch gave NAW from the moment he arrived. I suspect TC and Finch were really high on NAW when they made the DLO trade and that NAW’s inclusion in the deal was not a mere throw-in.

I am sure Finch licked NAW and it’s been reported the Wolves wanted him and Utah didn’t want to give him up but it’s also worth noting Nowell was injured and the wolves had a need for someone to play. To me the Wolves last season clearly prioritized playing young guys they wanted to give an opportunity to and would be FAs at the end of the season. They kept giving Nowell some opportunities even though to some extent he had fumbled them away. They liked NAW acquired him and there was an opportunity and for the most part he seized it. Basically their only other option late in the season and the playoffs would have been to play Austin Rivers those minutes. It made more sense all things considered to play NAW and he played well.

That's a good point Lipmaster 3000. NAW was never treated like a throw-in. I think they wanted him in that trade and still want him. I also expect him to be resigned shortly.

The way he stepped up in the playoffs and straight hounded Murray while hitting corner 3s convinced me that he cannot be let go.

I love 3000! Mystery Science Theater 3000. I see the silhouette of Lip sitting in the first row of seats throwing out comments as the action unfolds in front of him. It's great!

Back in the day I ran into Joel Hodgson and some of his crew at Nye's (which I realize is long gone now!). Nice guys. Whenever I ended the night in NE Mpls back in those days, it meant things got a little crazy, LOL.

That was a funny show, and you're right, I can see Lip doing that too.
