My Josh Hart dream is over almost as soon as it began. . But I like that he opted in at his $12.9M amount. That tells me Bruce Brown is gettable for the full MLE or perhaps something less - maybe $9.5M. I think it confirms that Donte’s market value isn’t more than Taurean Prince’s $7.5M. I like our chances of ending up with one of those two if in fact TC is interested. Jevon Carter would be a cheaper and not bad alternative.

Re: Free Agents
Hart was an interesting case for how much was he really worth on the open market. One positive of him opting in for a 1 year deal is that he is betting on himself and maybe next year with the cap rising he can get more money than if he signed somewhere this year even for the mid-level.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 29, 2023 5:28 pm https://twitter.com/shamscharania/statu ... 1SfRe3pBFA

I don’t know what teams with cap space are gonna be offering more than the mid-level for a guy like Bruce brown. I don’t even remember the cap space teams. Would he even want the extra money to go to one of those teams?
Re: Free Agents
I think you hit on an important point, Monster. I don’t see teams with cap space investing $13+M of their cap space in Bruce Brown and like you I question whether he’d want to go to a losing team with cap space just to get another million or two per year. In other words, I’m confidence that the MLE amount of around $12.5M serves as a cap on what we’d have to spend to get him. Whether there are teams out there ready to offer him $12 million or so is a mystery to me. I don’t know that I’d want to pay more than around $9M per year for him.Monster wrote: ↑Thu Jun 29, 2023 5:38 pmHart was an interesting case for how much was he really worth on the open market. Another factor to consider is the impact signing a free agent at close to the full MLE would have on our already precarious cap situation next summer. I doubt Bruce Brown would settle for a one-year deal even at the full MLE. If the Wolves sign him to a multi-year deal at $10M per year, that would probably completely close the small opening to somehow keep KAT, Rudy, Ant and Jaden beyond next season.

Re: Free Agents
Brown is the guy I've wanted, and I think we have a very good chance with him. He's tough and a great glue guy that can help everyone on the team. I'll be disappointed if we don't have him in 24 hours.
Re: Free Agents
I think we will see a lot of short term signings including essentially 1 year deals for guys that aren’t really cashing in. To some extent this could be good for both the players and teams with the new CBA and rising cap. The Wolves might be able to get an impact FA on what might be basically a 1 year deal. That includes even a guy like Bruce brown.
Re: Free Agents
Cool it’s probably too late but imo don’t get your hopes up. The reason we want Brown is why I think there will be quite a market for him. Still there are only so many teams that can offer him the money the Wolves can. If we get Bruce Brown I’m with you I think it would be a heck of a move and if I thought we could do that months ago I would have been chomping at the bit for this offseason to begin!Coolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 29, 2023 6:38 pm Brown is the guy I've wanted, and I think we have a very good chance with him. Indeed, it is going to be interesting to see who TC really wants. Obviously he has a plan based on the release of Prince. I'm hoping / expecting tomorrow to be a good day.Monster wrote: ↑Thu Jun 29, 2023 6:49 pmCool it’s probably too late but imo don’t get your hopes up. Re: Free Agents
Brown is said to be meeting with Dallas first thing. My gut says Brown to the Mavs or possibly back with Denver on a Joe Smith deal and DDV probably to the Knicks.
Hopefully the Wolves can at least nab Carter. I don't really get the LeVert steam. I know he had a pretty good year, but man, I don't trust his durability at all. Would much rather just roll with Naw at a cheaper price.

Great run down from Jon K on what TC is doing and the Wolves likely free agent targets.
