My Josh Hart dream died earlier today in New York. Looks like our Bruce Brown dream is about to die in LA. Very disappointing if we don’t get him and even more disappointing if the Lakers end up with him as reported to be likely in this tweet.

Cool it’s probably too late but imo don’t get your hopes up. The reason we want Brown is why I think there will be quite a market for him. Still there are only so many teams that can offer him the money the Wolves can. If we get Bruce Brown I’m with you I think it would be a heck of a move and if I thought we could do that months ago I would have been chomping at the bit for this offseason to begin!
Indeed, it is going to be interesting to see who TC really wants. Obviously he has a plan based on the release of Prince. I'm hoping / expecting tomorrow to be a good day.
Cool - You should probably temper your hopes and brace yourself for disappointment tomorrow. It looks like Bruce Brown will end up with the Lakers and Jon K speculates that it’s unlikely the Wolves will end up with DiVincenzo. I’m thinking more and more that it will be Jevon Carter. I’m preparing myself for the typical Wolves fan disappointment and maybe I’ll end up pleasantly surprised. Just managing my own expectations for mental health purposes. :)

With the Lakers reportedly the likely landing spot for Bruce Brown, what are folks thoughts on the other Brown (Troy) who was with the Lakers last season?

I've watched a lot of Jevon Carter and he doesn't do much for me. I'd rather have Prince. That's disappointing about Bruce, he would seem to be the prize jewel in the MLE market range.

I have the same view of Carter. If sign him, I’ll be disappointed. In an effort to manage my psyche, I’m going to assume they sign Carter and hope to be pleasantly surprised to learn they’re signing Bruce Brown or DiVincenzo. And I’m not thrilled with the idea of Donte, although it wouldn’t really disappoint me. I’m with you in preferring Prince over Carter.

Interesting that the Lakers would be paying Bruce Brown the full MLE if the report is true. The Wolves could do the same and stay under the luxury tax threshold next season. My fear is that the Wolves only offered him a one year deal because of the Wolves precarious salary situation relative to the second apron after next season. Again, the Gobert trade coupled with TC’s determination to keep both KAT and Rudy next season is probably negatively impacting the team’s options already.

If Carter is our "featured" signing, ala "Slo-Mo" last season, then yeah, that would be anti-climatic. But if he is added as a stop-gap to replace JMac's minutes... Well, I guess I don't have a problem with that.

I've also seen quite a bit of Donte DV. He's a guy that would help us. He can shoot, he can defend, and he has good basketball sense. Sign him.

Donte would be a nice consolation prize if we can’t land Bruce Brown. I’m trying not to get my hopes up for either. :)

Yep.

Both guys will be coveted, especially Brown. It's one thing to chase them... quite another for those guys to even consider Minnesota compared to the other offers out there.

Remember, it's often expected for teams "like Minnesota" to have to overpay free agents in these sorts of situations to level the playing field against more marquee and successful teams. At least in this case, Minnesota is limited in what they can offer. It's just a matter of convincing FAs that they should choose MN over (x) team.
