Lip I think brought him up as a possibility.
Honestly, bleh signing. Don't think he'll contribute much. He just looks the part.
He did shoot better from three as a Laker so I guess they hope that as a 23 year old wing he'll keep building off this, but I'm underwhelmed.

I'm just judging the player. If anything I really hope it ain't for that much.kekgeek wrote: ↑Fri Jun 30, 2023 5:32 pmI want you see the money for him and Naw first before I judgeWildWolf2813 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 30, 2023 5:30 pm Lip I think brought him up as a possibility.

His pros are that he's 23, toolsy, has good size, could defend multiple spots, but this is a filler move. If he's Austin Rivers' replacement, great. If he's Nowell's replacement, shrug. If he's anything more than fringe rotation guy, it's bleh.

2 year deal, 2nd year team option. Seems like the wolves will have money to play with still

Troy Brown jr is a guy I’ve been mentioning for quite a while. Not letting Lip get credit for mentioning him. Lol Not the Brown people were hoping for.
I see Prince signed 4.5 million BAE. My guess is Troy Brown got less than that maybe even the vet min. He isn’t amazing but he can play and there is some upside. If he turns into a Prince level of player it’s a pretty good deal. This is the type of guy I thought they might get by waiting.

Better rebounder than Prince, for what it's worth, and we need more of that from our perimeter players.Monster wrote: ↑Fri Jun 30, 2023 6:30 pm Troy Brown jr is a guy I’ve been mentioning for quite a while. Not letting Lip get credit for mentioning him. Lol Not the Brown people were hoping for.

Don’t get me wrong Prince is a better player with a more legit resume but you put their numbers side by side last year and the difference isn’t drastic plus Brown is a few weeks from turning 24. Not sure what his injury history is like.Q-is-here wrote: ↑Fri Jun 30, 2023 6:40 pmBetter rebounder than Prince, for what it's worth, and we need more of that from our perimeter players.Monster wrote: ↑Fri Jun 30, 2023 6:30 pm Troy Brown jr is a guy I’ve been mentioning for quite a while. Re: Troy brown a Timberwolf
Didn't know anything about this guy - but like Shake, I just looked him on on Basketball Reference. Here is my take away:
He's young. Currently 23 soon to be 24 but already has 5 years in NBA
Former 1st round pick (#15 overall)
Looking at traditional and advanced stats, I see some growth. It's not linear. But his last year was his best season with regard to VORP (0.5) and he started 45 games at age 23.
I think he's worth a flier to fill out the bench. If he can knock down some 3s and play D as others are mentioning - that would be just fine. I'm good with this signing.

Another former PG, turned SF. TC once again looking more at skill sets than position. This could be a sneaky good signing. I see a very competitive camp between Brown, Minott and Miller for minutes. And despite FNG's dream, I don't think JMac is part of the rotation, until an injury to someone else puts him in.
