Shake Milton's agreement with the Wolves is a 2-year deal with a team option for the 2nd year.
So this is what I have:
Milton: 2/10M
NAW: 2/9M
Brown: 2/8M
Jmac option picked up
To go along with Naz resigning.
Great job with not much money to work with

Re: Tim Connelly today
So officially
Resigned: Naz, Naw and Jmac option
Signed: Brown and Milton
Drafted: Miller and Clark
Out: Prince, Rivers and Nowell
2-ways: Garza (QO), Ryan (QO) and open spot
My guess is the wolves are going to wait and see if Garza gets an NBA contract (wolves can match) if he does Garza will get roster spot #15 and Clark gets a 2-way, if Garza does not get an NBA offer, Garza gets the 2-way and Clark gets spot #15
Very happy with the offseason for how little the wolves could move

Re: Tim Connelly today
Yup! Pretty solid offseason thus far.
And just when everyone starts feeling comfortable, then comes that KAT trade! (although I am fine with running it back as is and dealing with the financials later).

TC continues to do a great job.
Re: Tim Connelly today
I agree, WF. He went out and got some players who give us even better depth this year, but he still left open the possibility of keeping all our core players except Naz in 2024-5 without going over the apron. Neither Shake nor Brown are guaranteed for the second year, so replacing them with minimum salary guys (like Garza, who likely becomes the Naz replacement) probably puts us below the apron...that is unless Ant gets the $10 million All-Star bump.
Re: Tim Connelly today
I’m impressed to be honest. The wolves got better and younger this off-season and didn’t spend much money. I’d guess they still have some financial flexibility left in case they want to make a minor move.
Re: Tim Connelly today
I gotta think about it more....Can these guys outplay the Nowell/Rivers/Prince minutes last year? On paper, it seems like they could. In reality, once they put that Wolves jersey on, you gotta kind of discount your expectations for them as we get burned at least half the time on these signings where we are kind of excited at first ("Bryn Forbes will replace Beasley's shooting!") and then the guy ends up playing worse for us than any of their other prior stops (Martel Webster, JJ Barea, Jeff Teague, etc.).
Not sure yet.

Re: Tim Connelly today
Man, I took a nap and so many things happened.
I am mostly just happy to see Naz and NAW (is his 2nd year a PO or TO?) back.
Milton is decent.
I don't care for Ryan. Garza is cool just as a guy I'd much rather throw in there over Nathan Knight if our 3 guys who can play C are out.
The team got a brown, not the brown people wanted (I never thought we should or could pursue him, but 22 mil a year???). Also, what is a Troy Brown? Without googling, my memory tells me he is some tiny guard that once played for Houston.

Re: Tim Connelly today
My impression is that Brown fits the coveted big 3&D wing archetype, but ultimately is underwhelming. So he looks the part, but doesn't really play the part.TheFuture wrote: ↑Fri Jun 30, 2023 9:56 pm Man, I took a nap and so many things happened.

Okay, so just another 'maybe there is a chance guy', but likely more just a fill out the roster guy.Q-is-here wrote: ↑Fri Jun 30, 2023 10:32 pmMy impression is that Brown fits the coveted big 3&D wing archetype, but ultimately is underwhelming. So we have:
Conley/Milton/JMaC
Ant/NAW
Jaden/SloMo
KAT(still hate the PF attempt here)/Reid/SloMo
Rudy/KAT/Reid/ Garza
Then wherever Ryan, Brown, Moore, Minott, Miller ever fit in.
Clark next year really.
That js 17. So the Wolves are done barring a trade?
Underwhelming, but fine.
