I love today. Not a big rumor guy but love finding out where players are going and I’m a couple of beers deep on a boat. Good day
Nice!

Excellent signing. Love shake’s game
and length. Shake/naw/slowmo gives us enough ballhandling and playmaking and great length and excellent defense off then bench and add the offense firepower of Naz Reid with the group and 1 of ant/towns( I assume that finch will stagger the lineup with ant or towns in the game at all times).

It boils down to the Gobert/Towns pairing. If it is as good on both ends as TC envisioned then we are going to be a very good 2 way team.

The Wolves have 2 smaller players in Conley and McLaughlin and then pretty much everyone else is average or above average size for their position. It’s a pretty long roster so yeah the defense could be really good.

It feels like this roster is probably better in the aspect of not having guys that are liabilities on defense compared to last season.

You don't have a DLO or Nowell, which helps. And Rivers, while he tried hard and was given tough assignments, ended up not being very effective defensively either.

We are going to need some shot creation from the perimeter, as we can't just expect Naz to do all the scoring off the bench. Nowell was a legit shot creator, but he just really pressed things last year and his 3-pt shot completely abandoned him. Hoping Shake doesn't suddenly forget how to shoot, which is not an uncommon malady for new Wolves.

That is why I believe Finch is going to manage ant and towns minutes where 1 of them is in the game at all times. Towns is not a perimeter guy but him and naz together will be tough to contain for opposing bench bigs and slowmo running pick and roll with them with shake and NAW on the corners is going to be a tough cover for a 2nd unit.

If ant plays with Naz/slowmo/naw/shake then that lineup has the ability to switch everything on d and play fast on offense.

I'd almost say you need one of Ant and Jaden in the game at all times versus KAT and Ant, although I get your point. I just think we are still pretty thin at SF and I see Ant sliding to the 3 when McDaniels sits.

Is Edwards really that much bigger than Shake or NAW? I know NAW is skinny but still. If the Wolves are playing against a bigger SFs they could play anderson (or even Minott) at SF more. To be honest Prince sometimes wasn’t even strong enough/big enough to deal with some bigger forwards at times. To me he was kinda like Austin Rivers some matchups he just wasn’t good enough for them.

Somebody that knows more of Shake Milton: Sell me. Looking at you Lip, specifically. As you had been clamoring for him.

That was a good read. Thanks for that. Excited to have him on the team. Was he just a 2 year deal too, with a PO or TO?
