Free agent G D’Angelo Russell has agreed on a two-year, $37 million contract to stay with the Los Angeles Lakers, co-heads of @CAA_Basketball Austin Brown and Aaron Mintz along with Antonio Russell tell ESPN. Deal has player option. Lakers secure their starting point guard.

How do they have 1 open spot ? Is this assuming Clark would be on a two-way or something ? Just curious because I've seen this a few times now.

HA! HA! HA! I knew LST would chime in on this! What were the last projections by Team DLO on here? I think it was 4 years/$100M. Glad that never happened. But I think what the Lakers paid is perfectly fine and maybe DLO rebounds for one more big contract in two years.

I’m not sure whether Russell would have taken that type of deal to stay with the Wolves or not. Honestly I’m not sure how he wouldn’t have especially if he ended up with another negative playoffs on his resume. I always thought that he might end up signing for this type of deal and that’s why I was much more ok keeping him than others. Do I wish we still had him for that money? Not really. Didn’t they sign Gabe Vincent too? If so I’d guess he will taking minutes from Russell especially in the playoffs.

Meanwhile I was right about Bruce Brown. He got more money this year than Russell. Lol

Clark is no guarantee to get a NBA contract. They can give him a 2-way and could win a vet.
