Re: Best and Worst Value Signings
How about Bruce Brown and DLO?
Re: Best and Worst Value Signings
Naz ended up being the 18th highest paid guy this free agency for this upcoming year. Of the 17 guys who got more than him for straight talent perspective the only players I think Naz is for sure better than are:
Levert, Dillon Brooks and Rui.
Guys I think are debatable
Dlo and Strus
The other 13 guys from a talent perspective I think I would rather have Naz:
FvF, Grant, Lopez, Kyrie, Middleton, Poetle, Draymond, Kuz, Cam Johnson, Bruce Brown, Reeves, Herb Jones
When you add in contact. I would only rather have Naz over FvF and Grant above when you put in contract into the equation.
So of the 18 guys including Naz who got as much money as Naz I would put Naz at best 11th best value out of the 18 guys who got paid as much as he did.
I like Naz, I like the number we got him at, but I don’t think we got these steal of a contract. I think the 3 centers who got paid more than Naz are better than him in Lopez, Poetle and Draymond.

Re: Best and Worst Value Signings
Indiana was in a position to overpay for Bruce Brown. In fact, he's now their highest paid player. Heck, they might have needed to overpay just to hit the new salary cap floor.
Brown took the overpay... but conceded contract length. I also think the club might have an option for the 2nd year. It's a win-win deal for player and team. Using that as context, the overpay for him doesn't seem bad at all.
As for Russell... I'm gonna wait and let Camden chime in with his thoughts. (lol)

This may all be true Kek, but a lot of those guys are getting paid way more than NAZ, including the three centers you list. It's really not an apples to apples comparison.kekgeek wrote: ↑Mon Jul 03, 2023 5:33 pm Naz ended up being the 18th highest paid guy this free agency for this upcoming year. Re: Best and Worst Value Signings
Just goes to show what a good offseason we've had from TC so far.
Bulls resigned Coby White for 3 years / 40 million. Similar player and statistics to Shake Milton who we got for under half the price (although White is three years younger).

I agree Kiwi. I think TC got very good value in our three free free agent signings. And I think they got terrific value in the Naz Reid contract as well. Trading two future second round picks to move up and grab Leonard Miller looks to me like a terrific move by TC.
Re: Best and Worst Value Signings
Kuzma’s deal is starting to look quite a bit better. It’s 4 years 90 million and that includes 6 million in incentives based on team success. The deal also starts at just over 25 million and then declines each year. I wonder if some of the other reported deals are less than we heard initially.
Wizards aren’t exactly killing it pivoting from Beal and Porzingus but they have some young players that are worthwhile and they might be interesting enough to have Wizards fans pay attention. They have some players they could still move for some sort of assets even just 2nd rounders if they want to. They do owe a lottery protected first so it might be worthwhile to suck for a couple seasons to keep that. Poole next to Tyus is a pretty solid fit but will they keep Tyus long term? Obviously it would have been more thrilling if they had gotten a lot more for 2 really good players but getting Poole who could be a Zach Lavine type player ain’t the worst thing…oh and don’t forget that exciting cap space!!!
