Glad it’s four years. That gives him time to develop and be part of the Ant era in future years. I’ve been expecting his deal to start at $1.8M in his first season. I’ll stand by that prediction for now. :)

Four-year, $8.3 million deal. The first two years of the deal are fully guaranteed, the third year is 50 percent guaranteed, and the fourth year is a team option.

This suggests the first year starting at 1.85 mil.

And apparently Clark signed a 2-year 2-way contract, if that is even a thing!

According to the Larry Coon CBA FAQ you can sign a guy to a two year 2-way deal. I’d assume both sides figure they probably will convert it to a standard deal after year 2 but this isn’t a bad outcome for Clark’s for a few reasons even if he ends up a 2-way for both seasons.

He makes some money for this season while getting high level NBA trainers etc and an NBA franchise that’s clearly invested in him. There will be no pressure for him to return early. If he hasn’t been drafted he would have gone back to UCLA and I would guess he would have felt pressure to try and come back and play to get a shot at playing on an NBA team. Sure maybe he could have made some NIL money but for sure being on an NBA roster sounds good. It also means he will be accruing a year of NBA service time. If he sticks around long enough to sign any kind of vet min deal that’s a few hundred thousand more he will basically make because he was on an NBA roster this year.

I wondered if the Wolves had checked to see if he was open to signing a 2-way deal before they even drafted him. He honestly just seems happy to get on a roster so this may have been in the works to some extent before he even got drafted.

In the video he did a few days ago where he said he was likely signing a 2-way deal he mentioned that on a 2-way deal the team pays for lodging for the year. If you sign an NBA deal then you have to pay for that on your own. Idk what costs are there but my guess they get him a reasonably nice apartment for the year and that’s another few thousand a year and it’s gotta be nice to just not have to worry about it at all. Plus there is per diem money and lots of other perks including swag etc etc. I’m sure they get plenty of food provided for them as well beyond Becky’s famous lasagna. Lol
