Hicks is already a plus-defender in the outfield. I've never been worried about that because he really is special with the glove. It's at the dish where I'm unsure. I also think he needs to cut that little hand/wrist twitch out of his swing. It's insanely hard to stay consistent with your timing while having your hands moving like that.

The thing about hicks is his work ethic and this is where Molly comes in to play. Hicks has always been a guy who's more worried about his golf game than watch film on pitchers, but you can see the difference with Molly and hunter getting on him. Also the shot Molly took at him for calling up Rosario before he called him up.

The question I've is when is the right time to bring up Buxton or Sano. Sano is batting .250 right now with about 10 bombs. We are essentially getting nothing out of our DH spot, so why not let kid see if he can catch lighting in bottle at the DH spot.

I would like to see Buxton playing outfield in the next month or so. Can you imagine the defense of Hunter Hicks and Buxton. Also how much speed Buxton brings, can you imagine how many fastballs dozier and Mauer would see if he's at first base.

Pitching wise I've to admit Pelfrey is being a stud right now. Gibson is becoming the pitcher I always thought he could be, Hughes is Hughes you take the good with bad. Trevor May is effectively wild and we are only 41 games away from getting bum ass Nolasco out of the rotation for Ervin Santana.

I have to admit I didn't think the Twins would be a .500 squad this year and here they are riding high. Whereas I thought the Brewers wouldn't be as bad as everyone was saying they are in fact way worse. Also wtf is going on with the Astros?

Hicks had some issues mental laspes if I remember last year in the field so that was a worry if he was going to have that hiccup again.

One more remarkable aspect to the Twins' hot start is that they have played 31 of their first 46 games against the AL Central, which is by far the strongest division in baseball. After KC's win today, our division is 21 games over .500...the NL West is the only other division that is over .500, and only by 5 games! The Twins are 16-15 within their tough division, and are beating up the rest of the league 12-3. They are doing what they have to do...play even within their division while destroying the rest of the league. Let's see if they can keep it up.

Twins next 7 games vs. opponents with sub .500 record.

13 after vs. opponents with .500+ record.

Over the next 20 games, or the month of June, we should know if this Twins team is contenders or pretenders. Win the ones we're supposed to win and win half of the toughies.
