I think we've touched on these things before, but I thought this was a interesting read:

It was an interesting read. But I didn’t see enough last season to convince me that Gobert’s presence in that play-in game would have impacted the result. He was a defensive plus but an offensive drag. Would the Denver series have been different with McDaniels and Naz? That’s a great question. Maybe it would have been different, but I think the Nuggets had another gear against us they didn’t use because they didn’t need it. They were the far superior team and they plowed through the rest of their competition pretty easily on their way to winning the championship.

The Wolves might eventually be able to reach the level the Nuggets were at last season. But we’re not there yet and there’s no short cut to that goal. Edwards is still 21 years old and McDaniels 22. I’ll seriously consider the Wolves a championship contender when Ant and Jaden are at least 24 and 25 respectively with the right blend of talent around them.

Let’s be honest while not taking much away from the Nuggets title run. They played at least 2 teams in the playoffs that had legit injury issues in the Wolves and Suns and those were 2 teams that actually won games against the Nuggets unlike the Lakers. I’ll agree I’m not sure Gobert would have made a difference in the play in but missing other legit players like even just McDaniels likely did. A fully healthy Wolves team last playoffs would have been very interesting even if they didn’t beat the Lakers and therefore play Memphis.
