Trip down memory lane

Post by Carlos Danger »

With the International discussion - specifically Canada, I wondered what ever happened to Anthony Bennett. Thanks to the Interweb, a quick Google gave me the answer:

https://www.sportskeeda.com/basketball/ ... -nba-draft

I'm not judging and wish the dude well. It's just crazy the highs and lows people go through in life.

Yikes....Taiwan. Looks like he ate some of his team mates.

It's crazy to think that the Wolves had three #1 picks on their roster over the course of two seasons ('14-15 and '15-16) - first AB and Wiggins and then Wiggins and KAT, yet couldn't build any sustained success with that foundation. We once again have two former #1 picks on the roster in Ant and KAT and while we are at least competitive, we still have to claw and scratch our way just to make it to a playoff series (that we end up losing).

Watching a couple minutes of highlights he definitely looks bigger than when he was playing in the Israel league about a year before. Maybe he decided to lean into just being a big dude. Even at his leanest he was a pretty wide body but yeah.

Ultimately Bennett seemed like a guy that just wasn’t able to get there for one reason or another even though for his body type and general skills he was drafted at about the perfect time. It’s hard at that level and difficult mentally. He is still playing making some decent money playing basketball and doing so at the age of 30. Derrick Williams is still playing ball too although at a much higher level league and probably making more money too. Idk what either guy did with their money or how much was left after everything but they could still have a decent chunk left if they didn’t blow it all.

Meanwhile a guy like Robbie Hummel might end up making more than both guys as a broadcaster.
