The Timberwolves are signing Vit Krejci to a training camp deal, sources tell @TheAthletic. Krejci, a 6-8 G/F, played 29 games for the Atlanta Hawks last season.

He's really long for a point guard. He's 6"8 with a 7 foot wingspan. TC continues to love long wingspans. He's from the Czech Republic and 23. He's been in the NBA for 2 seasons, first with OKC then with Atlanta.

OKC loves lengthy players too they were the team that originally acquired him in the 2020 draft. He was injured and so it was basically a redshirt year I wonder if he was healthy he may have gone higher idk. Anyway his rookie year coming off the injury was somewhat promising with a guy that hit threes and put in stuff in various stats. Last year in Atlanta he didn’t play much.

If those measurements are accurate he is basically about the same size as Juancho but more of a guard. In highlights he really does look like a guard the way he moves. With his size and length it’s not surprising to see him put up some good or very good rebounding numbers.

Watching his season highlights from his rookie season to his play this summer his lower half looks more in control. OKC his jumper he would be flailing all over the place.

Dalano Banton Is a guy I’ve always thought was a little bit intriguing and because he played a year at Nebraska even thought I didn’t really watch him play I check in to see how he is doing from time to time. Bit seems like a similar profile player. If he doesn’t make the roster he seems like a guy that may be good to develop in the G-league. Until this summer in 3 games he really hasn’t been a scorer but again he is a guy that profiles like someone that can fill up a stat sheet with his size and length and pretty good athletic traits for his length. I’m a little bit intrigued.

With the season Nowell had two years ago where he made the most of whenever he got regular minutes, he was poised for a big pay day this offseason. Alas, last season was a total disaster for him and now he's fighting to stay in the league. Just crazy and another dead body in the graveyard of failed Wolves developmental picks. I'm sure he'll suddenly remember how to shoot if he ends up with Golden State!

I was just checking out Leo Bolmaro's numbers and see he is shooting 27% for his NBA career (15% last year). I know his minutes are limited in 49 games. But that's epically bad. For some reason, I thought Bolmaro had a long wingspan, but its not all that long. Vit Krejci is much longer and he's a much better version of Bolmaro. Interestingly, Bolmaro went in round 1 and Krejci went in round 2.

Charlotte worked him out too and I hope he signs there as Charlotte might be less interested in resigning Theo Maledon who I like and who has a 6"9 wingspan which should please TC. Put Vit in the two way slot and Maledon could be our 15th guy and we have two young point guards with length and passing skills to develop.

OKC still has to make some cuts and they might release another young guard. They will probably cut 1-2 of Oladipo, Tre Mann, Aaron Wiggins and Isaiah Joe. So keeping an open spot might make sense until other teams finish their roster cuts.

Interestingly, Bolmaro went in round 1 and Krejci went in round 2.

It is interesting to compare those guys. I think Bolmaro is big for a guy that moves and plays even more like a PG but yes Vit is longer. One thing that made me high on Bolmaro was his defensive potential the way he moved like a much smaller player.

I’ll also add that while it’s a small sample size Vit has better summer league numbers than Bolmaro and probably has a better resume as a shooter (still not great but better) after being drafted as well. He also was coming back from a significant injury. The rebounding numbers are more intriguing too.

Yeah, I like the signing by TC and hope he gets a two way deal. I suspect he was given an Exhibit 10 deal and there is a good chance, he either gets a two way contract or goes to our G League. Either way, we get a chance to benefit if he can develop into a useful player.

It looks like TC is looking for another point guard. Names floated are Elfrid Payton, Kennedy Chandler and Cameron Payne. I think they are all decent options and while my preference is probably KC as he is by far the youngest of the trio. I'm also fond of Cameron Payne if we want someone that might help us now but more as a JMAC replacement as he would become redundant with Conley, Shake and Payne. I'm also not sure how our rotation would go if Payne was brought in as it might bump Shake to shooting guard and NAW to small forward and leave Troy Brown out.
