Board expertise and civility

Post by FNG »

We're in a little bit of a lull here with FIBA over and training camp not yet started, so I thought I would throw out a compliment to the members here. Any of you who have participated in other message boards know how they can often dissolve into a bunch of petty arguments...heck, we had our share here for awhile also! But it seems to me that we are at a very good place as a board now. Lots of good basketball takes...with big differences of opinion to be sure at times...but without the silly personality attacks that seemed to take over the board from time to time. I learn a lot every time I check in here, and the different perspectives really make this board a rich experience. So many of you are knowledgeable in aspects of the NBA that either elude me or that I don't have the time to become expert in (salary cap matters, the G League, etc), and this board fills a lot of gaps in my NBA experience.

Anyway, keep it up boys...we have an elite board here! Oh, and GO WOLVES!

Well said FNG, and you are a big part of it! Thanks once again to Tim for making the transition to this iteration of the board smooth.

Dumbest post I've ever read. Only a moron would think these types of thoughts. (You know I kid LST! )

I think a lot of the previous dust ups were often linked to a specific guy/topic. Hint: It started with a D and ended with a LO.
Conflict is evitable when sharing opinions. We are not always all going to agree. But yes, I don't see nearly the volume of jabs taken as what happens in other boards. There are ways to disagree and remain respectful and most on here seem to take that route which I also appreciate. And the best part is - no moderator. The board literally moderates itself.

Hey, F off Anthony!

Yeah, you're probably right. So much if the silly infighting here seemed to center around Russell...we're lucky he's gone for multiple reasons!

Thank goodness Wolves basketball can always give us new moments to insult eachother. It usually gets animated when our hopes and dreams get crushed. A nice 10 game losing streak and more Ant trade rumors should suffice. Maybe Kat publicly calling out teammates. Who knows what opportunity we may have to get rid of all of this civility and get back to being dysfunctional Wolves fans. Let's remember this forum is called Minnesota Sports.

This has always been a civil and knowledgeable board to hang out in. Just a great bunch of loyal guys who have shared in a lot of pain over the years. I sincerely hope we can all enjoy some better times in the next few years, we certainly deserve it. How great the reward would be for the fans who stuck with the team.

I think you guys are lucky to have me. Who else is left that would be willing to engage in battle like I have? Gone are the likes of Khans, Camden, and Jason only shows up on rare occasions. But seriously, thanks to all the really good dudes who continue to make this must read material year after year.
