Media Day
Re: Media Day
yeah, I think they may be doing it earlier for the Wolves since they are traveling overseas to kick off the preseason next week. For most teams I believe Oct 2 or 3 is media day.
Re: Media Day
Strangely last year they did Media Day earlier. It was on Sep 26. I have seen a few tweets saying it will be this Thursday.

Excerpt from Wolves press release:
"The Timberwolves will hold the team’s training camp at Mayo Clinic Square. Minnesota’s first practice will be on Friday, Sept. 29 at 11:00 a.m. with a suggested media arrival time of 1:30 p.m. Following each practice, the team will hold in-person media availabilities each day with Timberwolves players along with Head Coach Chris Finch."

Re: Media Day
Watched all the videos: TC, Finch and 16 players (all standard and two way players did interviews except for Matt Ryan). Collectively, the players are confident and feel good about the upcoming season. My favorites interviews were Conley, Kyle, Ant, NAW, Jaylen Clark and Garza. I also enjoyed Troy Brown, Shake and Rudy's interview (Rudy had me laughing when he referred to himself in the third person, responding that transitioning to drop coverage is difficult to do, but not for Rudy). JMac says he's healthy and Leonard said everbody's been welcoming and that he's eager to learn. I'll be honest, the one interview that I didn't enjoy was Jaden's interview. Maybe it was the questions asked of him, but he responded that he is looking for a bigger role and when Mikal Bridges's name came up, he mentioned how Mikal went from defensive stud in Phx to being the guy in Brooklyn. I'm getting some Marbury vibes, that maybe Jaden wants a bigger offensive role and will seek to leave or else he's negotiating for a max/near max deal. It didn't help that Ant said Jaden is the team's most important player as he has the most potential. I might be overreacting, but I probably will worry about Jaden's future with the Wolves as long as he remains unsigned. TC needs to lock him up asap.
Re: Media Day
As KG4 pointed out, there were a lot of good interviews. I thought Garza was especially good -- the last interview of the day if you want to fast forward through the stream. He commented on how much Rudy has worked to improve his offensive skills based on how he gets the ball in the Wolves offense. And there was a lot of other good stuff.
KAT had the most reserved interview I have seen from him. Has all the bad pub left him butt-hurt? Or have enough people talked him out of being so candid in interviews? I don't know. But I sure hope he has a lot more enthusiasm playing this season than he did in that interview!

KG, That's exactly what I would have wanted Jaden to say. He absolutely needs to aspire to be Pippen to Ant's Jordan. He should get an expanded offensive role, and if he doesn't, he shouldn't be happy. He may be our 2nd best player as early as this year. This is how we win a title.KG4Ever wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2023 4:14 pm Watched all the videos: TC, Finch and 16 players (all standard and two way players did interviews except for Matt Ryan). I rewatched the video and am not as concerned about Jaden, though I still will be relieved to get him signed. I cringed at Britt Robson, when he prefaced his question to Jaden by asking if he was ok being a fourth or fifth option in the halfcourt offense. Jaden said he thinks he could be the 1 or 2 guy on the NBA Team... I could score 25 points a night if I wanted to. An unidentified person asked if he saw the comparison of his game to that of Mikal Bridges and he said he saw the transformation of Bridges from Phoenix to Brooklyn and said I could see myself doing that as well.
Re: Media Day
ANT and Conley both had interviews with Barreiro today. The ANT one is unspectacular, starting at the 10 minute mark. But the Conley one is really good, adding some good stuff on top of his media day interview. It starts at the 58:00 minute mark. (make sure you press the "play" button in the middle of the page, and not the bottom one -- the bottom one plays the first hour of the show...)
