GDT: PS1: Mavs in the Desert-Game 1

Post by KG4Ever »

I'm excited to get the season underway even it its just preseason. It is tomorrow morning and its supposed to be on NBA-TV and hoping I can watch it VIA NBA League Pass or another source. The Radio broadcast hopefully is on Iheart, for those who can't access the TV broadcast.

Well, ANT's having a good time!

Conley, SloMo and Rudy all gave media time in Abu Dhabi. Most of the questions are from local media that is kind of mundane. I thought Conley's interview was the most interesting.

From just a blending of personalities and styles, you almost couldn't conceive of a better backcourt compliment to Ant than Mike Conley. He exudes wisdom, maturity, and selflessness in contrast to Ant's youth and charisma. Just a perfect compliment. Too bad he isn't a few years younger because "peak Conley" skills-wise is also a perfect compliment on the court. He has lost a step on both sides of the ball in that regard, but his leadership will have a lasting impact.

Alan Horton: Anthony Edwards (ankle) will NOT play in tonight's preseason opener vs. Mavericks in Abu Dhabi.

Ant turned his left ankle in practice yesterday, it's not expected to be serious.

Ha, you’re quicker than me, kek!

Looks like NAW is getting the start in Ant’s absence

Nice showing early on by Wolves. KAT playing with a lot of energy. Very good defense so far-though Dallas is missing a lot of shots (but that won't last all game). I think its a blessing in disguise to sit Ant as it allows guys to get more touches and NAW to build some chemistry with the starters.

Going from Nowell/JMac to Shake should hopefully have a drastic impact on our backup guard minutes

I still hope Minott breaks out because even if Troy Brown gives up a great season, it'll only be for 1 year and his price skyrockets. We still have 3 more years to get that production from Minott.

Yup! Shake's first shot from the corner was something Nowell just could not hit last year.

Rudy comes off the floor and the Dallas offense picks up... But overall, a lot of things to like!

Interesting lineup to close the quarter: Shake, Brown, SloMo, Naz, Rudy.

And Shake has been awesome!
