If you look at history, the Wolves (since 89) have been in Western conference longer than the Grizzlies (since 95) or the Pelicans (since 2002). In fact, the Pelicans were part of the east when they were in Charlotte. So I don't see history as favoring the Wolves moving to the East.

I would expect the Wolves to be one of the two Western Conference teams that get moved into the Eastern Conference. The other would likely be Memphis. I’d certainly prefer to see the Wolves in the East for many of the reasons already stated:

1. It foster regional rivalries

2. It would reduce the travel burden on the Wolves’ players

3. Most importantly, it would make it easier for me to watch road games live on TV without staying up past my bedtime. :)

Only 1 team will move to the East. There are currently 15 teams in each conference. 2 teams join west (Vegas and Seattle), so 17 teams in the west and 15 in the East so only 1 team moves to the East (I think the wolves are heavy favorites due to they travel more then Memphis and NO)

Yeah, your point three is the main reason I would like a move to the Eastern conference.

I would say Seattle is a near certainty, but I am not sure if Vegas is a huge favorite for the second team but I don't think Vegas is very deserving of a team. Missouri with both St. Louis and Kansas City have no team. I think KC had Kings before they moved to Sacramento. I think St. Louis had Hawks before they moved to Atlanta. Baltimore and Cincinnati also have had NBA teams in past. I will be disappointed if Vegas gets a team ahead of other larger markets and more deserving cities.

If both Vegas and Seattle get teams and there are no additional teams, I think Minnesota might be favored to move to east based on internet chatter, but I don't think their case is any stronger than that of Memphis. Geography, history and net travel seem to favor Memphis, but I think Wolves might have politics in their favor.

Las Vegas Aces have the highest attendance in the WNBA
Las Vegas is 12th in NHL
Las Vegas is 15th in NFL

Vegas will be getting a team.

The wolves travel more in the season than the Grizzlies and the Pelicans. Memphis has a pretty short location of new orelans, and the Texas teams. While Minnesota has far travel to Denver, Portland, Utah and sort of OKC. They can eliminate so much travel putting the wolves in the East to join Chicago, Milwaukee and Indiana more then any other team in the league

I think the facts can be made to support whatever end result you want. So I agree in part with those that think the Wolves might be the team to move. I honestly think Memphis has a very strong case to be made to move to the east, but it don't matter what any of us think, the NBA decision makers will decide and sell it to the public. I guess I'm in the minority of wanting the Wolves to stay in the west and perhaps I see things more likely to support that decision and I imagine those that want to move focus on facts to support that. I guess I'm talked out on this issue.

I think the biggest factor is that if Memphis stays, there is a great case to have them in a division with nearby teams in Texas, New Orleans and/or OKC. If Minnesota stays, they are so far from a division rival. Interestingly, I think if KC or St.Louis were to get in, it would still favor the Wolves moving East as those cities would slide in nicely with the aforementioned group.

Vegas is gonna get a team but man it would be awesome if KC had a team again. I think if they were able to put any type of competitive team on the floor I think they would do well there. I think there would be people from various smaller cities not too far from them including Lincoln and Omaha that would go to some games including myself. There would be some interesting options for G-league teams in the area too. I don’t know as much about St Louis Bit to expand there needs to be 2 teams. My guess is it’s gonna be quite a while before another expansion takes place.
