So, three consecutive games in which we have held 20+ point leads, 2 of them against teams with winning records. I think you have to be a pretty good team to do that three games in a row. Let's see what they can do Monday against a Celtics team that is clearly the best in the league through the first two weeks of the season.
Love the fact we have these early tests against two of the clear cut Finals favorites in Denver and Boston. The Denver win was great, but not totally shocking given how we tend to match up with them so well. Boston is a different beast entirely, so anxious to see if we can hang with them.
We’re certainly being tested early. The Celtics look almost unbeatable. Just having Tatum, Brown and Porzingis would be enough to make them a favorite for the NBA title. But they also have Jrue Holiday and Derrick White.

Yeah, I am not too surprised since Atlanta has a great guard duo in Trae and Dejounte plus they have two good rim protectors in Capela and Okongwu, plus some good wing depth (Saddiq Bey is a backup and he's pretty good) and add a top-notch coach in Quin Snyder and Atlanta was my top Over pick after the Wolves in the Over/Under bet.

Regarding the Wolves, we knocked off both NBA finalist teams back to back after a gut wrenching loss. That is a good sign. Wolves are now 3-0 at home and we need to start winning some road games.

Just finished watching this game this morning.

2 thoughts.

John Collins is good at basketball but I, not very disappointed we don’t have him here. Towns was too big too strong against him in the post. Collins got Towns on a couple drives but still.

Horten Tucker is an interesting player. He had some really nice defensive possessions. I not sure what he ends up being but he is 22 and can play as a legit PG with all that size. I’d be happy if Nix could turn into that type of a player even if he was similarly inconsistent. That’s a guy that might be a worthwhile bench player.

Nice win.

Actually, I think Nix and THT have some similarities with their build and their game. Comparing their G League careers and my eye test, THT is a more volume shooter, but Nix is more efficient and is a better passer. I think they are both capable defenders and they both achieve above average steals and blocks for a guard. I think Nix projects to more of what the Wolves will need and I don't think THT would be a particularly good fit here. He's too ball dominant and inefficient. That said, THT is a more proven commodity at the NBA level and might be a better fit for a team like Utah who lacks guard scoring.

Agree 100% with everything you said. I think the concern about THT is that he is a guy that plays best as both a high usage and high volume of minutes guy. With the players Utah has that might actually work. I would say that THT is a better athlete right now.

THT makes over 11 million this year and unless he really bombs out he will probably get some sort of decent contract I’m taking like 5 million a year. Nix? He will have to do something impressive to get anything more than vet min offers. THT is the more valuable player right now but Nix if he rounds out his game could end up having value as a guy making very little bit adds solid value.
