Road Trip Projections

Post by KG4Ever »

Wolves have a five game road trip coming up, against Spurs, two against Warriors, Suns and finally Pelicans. I am predicting the Wolves beat Spurs and Pelicans, and split with Golden State. The Suns game is a toss up for me as I don't know how healthy the Suns will be. If they bring out all of their big three, I'll pick the Suns as they have more to play for. If Booker or Durant is out, I'm picking the Wolves.

We are a poor matchup for the Warriors. Our bigs should be able to sway the games our way. We should win one of those two at an absolute minimum. I wonder if Jaden will guard Steph or Klay. I'd probably put Ant on Curry and Jaden on Klay. Wiggins is off to a bad start and we are a deeper team for sure. I'm going to say 4-1 on the trip if we can get that first one.

Yeah, you may be right. Last year we split with the Warriors both at home and on the road. When we lost on the road, we were missing Gobert and KAT, though they were missing Curry. When we trotted out the two bigs and our full lineup we beat them, though Wiggs was out. Gobert had 18 boards. Naz played well too. Both Ant and Steph didn't shoot well, though Warriors kept game close and lost by just 3. Poole had a good game but he is gone, but CP3 might make up for that. Ant has really struggled against the Warriors and had 4 poor shooting games against them last year, so Kerr knows how to guard him. So it will be interesting to see if Ant can show improvement and hopefully he can be a facilitator if his shot isn't falling. I'm still going to say split, but I could see Wolves sweeping too.

I’m gonna go 4-1 we should beat the spurs and pelicans

I think they’re better team the warriors. I think Klay will sit the second game. As he’s on my fantasy team he usually sits when they can get him 3-4 days of rest. They don’t play OKC till Thursday so that’s three full days of rest for him.

Yep, and the type of game we would struggle to win as recently as last year.

Yep for to worry about the Spurs first. The wolves have not won a game on the road yet. The spurs killed the wolves last year from effort. Different type of test tonight

Last year Memphis won 51 games and were 16-25 on the road. Cleveland won 51 as well and were 20-21 on the road. So I don't think we need to be great on the road if we continue to be great at home, where we're undefeated so far and an increasing number of fans are helping our home court advantage.

I think we'll win 2 out of 5 and come out of the road trip at 7-5.

Yeah, the Wolves came out of that road trip with flying colors and have returned home in 1st place in the West. But out of the frying pan and into the fire: this next 3-game home stand will really test their mettle! Knicks, 76ers and Kings.

The Wolves strength of schedule is really tough the first two and half months of the season. Quite a change of scenery compared to last year when the schedule was soft to start the season (and the colors weren't flying so bright!).
