Now none of us would complain about Edwards or want anybody else... but DAMN! All three guys from the 2020 class have been insanely good. The efficiency from Haliburton and Maxey can't be sustainable... can it?
2020 Draft Leap
Re: 2020 Draft Leap
That is incredible and Ant is actually the least efficient of the three. Maxey made Harden so expendable and the Sixers are probably glad to move on. Not sure how sustainable Maxey's turnovers are....that's crazy to have that kind of usage and only average 1 turnover per game. Unfortunately, we can't say the same about Ant. That's definitely one of his warts.
Re: 2020 Draft Leap
We could have had Maxey or Desmond Bane if Rosas didn't have a hard-on for Bolmaro. Ant, Maxey and McDaniels would have been a draft for the ages.

I like to point out how high I was on Haliburton in that draft.
But deep down in places I don't talk about at parties... I thought the McDaniels pick was dumb.
Re: 2020 Draft Leap
We could have had Bane who was drafted at #30 but we couldn’t have drafted Maxey unless we kept our #19 pick, in which case we wouldn’t have Jaden. The Sixers took Maxey at #21 and the Wolves then drafted Bolmaro at #23 followed by Jaden at #28. It was still a fantastic draft for the Wolves who ended up with both Ant and Jaden. But it’s amazing to think it could have been even better if Rosas had taken Jaden at 23 and Bane at 28. But would be even greater to have Ant, Jaden and Maxey from that draft. Wow!
Re: 2020 Draft Leap
I also recall reports that Rosas was trying to maneuver into position to draft Haliburton. That deal probably would have required Rosas to give up #19 and something else to move up for Haliburton. He would be a perfect fit next to Edwards.
Re: 2020 Draft Leap
Rosas also could have drafted Wiseman, Hampton, Flynn. (All players picked one pick later). Rosas hit the jackpot with the picks. Even great gms miss. I mean in the 2019 draft Rosas drafted two players who didn’t get a 2nd Nba contract in Culver and Nowell but he signed Naz. The same guy who drafted Kessler also drafted Wendell Moore.
The draft is not an exact science, gms are going to miss. Just as easy it is to say GM x could have drafted an all star instead of a bum they could have drafted a bum when they drafted an All star.
At the end of the day, I expect our gms to miss on picks. The key is not to stack up bad picks for consecutive years. That’s when a GM gets in trouble.

Exactly my thoughts. Well stated.kekgeek wrote: ↑Tue Nov 14, 2023 12:18 amRosas also could have drafted Wiseman, Hampton, Flynn. (All players picked one pick later). I can't read the small print, so I'm going to assume it says how high you were on Rashad McCants in his draft.AbeVigodaLive wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 10:23 amI like to point out how high I was on Haliburton in that draft.

We all love Edwards, and I'm not ready to conclude he won't end up the best player in the 2020 draft, but Maxey and Haliburton's offensive numbers so far this season are historically absurd.
Re: 2020 Draft Leap
Agreed, kind of humbling to look at what Haliburton and Maxey are doing. Ant's numbers don't stand out as much in comparison, especially with his elevated turnover rate compared to the other two.FNG wrote: ↑Tue Nov 14, 2023 7:31 amI can't read the small print, so I'm going to assume it says how high you were on Rashad McCants in his draft.AbeVigodaLive wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 10:23 amI like to point out how high I was on Haliburton in that draft.

I haven't watched the other two enough to know their games, but I do wonder if Ant has more gravitational pull and therefore creates more open shots for others by his mere presence on the floor. Also, no one other than his team mate Jaden can lock down on the wing like Ant, although he is used only selectively in this regard.
