I only watched the first half closely and the last five minutes, so I'm going half on what I saw and half on boxscore.

A plus: KAT
A: Ant
A-: Jaden
B+: NAW
C+: Kyle, Gobert
C: Conley, Shake
D: Naz

So far, I’ve have only very minor quibbles with Kek’s grades through the previous 10 games. Looking at your grades for the Pelicans’ game, Q, I have only one relatively minor quibble. I’d give KAT a solid A. I don’t see any reason for the minus and I’m tempted to give him an A+.

I’d with you on all your other grades. I think your A- for NAW is spot on. NAW has been absolutely fantastic so far this season. His shooting isn’t always there, but his defense is. I’d put him right there with Jaden defensively. At the same time, NAW has done an excellent job of handling the ball and often filling the lead guard role off the bench.

Milton continues to be a disappointment

For me NAW has been the biggest disappointment. He had a good night today, but most games he is one of the worst out there. I have not been overwhelmed by his defense and he has a team worse plus minus. For those of you who think Shake has been disappointing, you have to realize his success has come when he gets a lot of minutes, not in the low minutes he has gotten. He hasn't gotten much minutes. In 19 games last year with 28 minutes or more, he was shooting lights out (50/42/85) with a decent amount of assists on a respectable assist/turnover rate and Philly won 15 of 19. If you look across his career of 49 starts, he has equally impressive shooting stats. Shake needs more minutes and I hope we give Conley some rest days and let Shake try to replicate what he did in Philly. The other thing I notice is that Shake doesn't handle the ball that much when he's out there and often he is wide open and his teammates take a more contested shot. He got more touches in preseason and he shot over 60%. I can't blame Shake when his teammates have sticky fingers.

Love this new grading feature, guys...it generates a lot of fun discussion.

I definitely side with Q's C over KG's A for Edwards tonight (KG's grade was based on a box score review, so he didn't see how sloppy Ant played). I saw this as Ant's 4th consecutive bad game, and it's a credit to this roster that we have gone 3-1 on the road over that span. Ant is a terrific scorer and on-ball defender. but right now he is really hurting our offensive flow with his 1 on 1 style and sloppy passing. I haven't read the GDT so maybe this was mentioned, but I counted at least 5 or 6 careless sloppy passes that either resulted in a TO, or at best forced a teammate to make an athletic save to prevent a TO. This kid has so much talent, but he has a long way to go to becoming a complete ballplayer. Clearly a C tonight.

And KAT was a clear A++. Despite being hounded by the marvelous Herb Jones (one of my favorite players in the Association), he still had 29 points on 10 of 11 shooting, including the wining bucket. Add 9 assists and no TOS to that, and you have an almost perfect game. Great job KAT!

I guess I'll also quibble with Q's B grade for Rudy. While I'm loving his active defense this year, overall he was outplayed by Jonas tonight...and that can't happen. I'm not sure how he was credited with only 1 turnover, because his bad hands were on display tonight. And we can't ignore his missing both free throws at such a critical part of the game. C- for Rudy tonight.

It seems like Ant goes into these funks of sorts for fairly long stretches of games during the regular season. We've seen it happen the last couple years. It's often tied to a nagging injury, but I'm not aware of anything physically wrong with him this time around. It's disappointing, but there is a long season still ahead and we know he can play a lot better.

Foul trouble is why I gave KAT an A- and not an A or A+. Perhaps we wouldn't have needed his heroics if he and Ant didn't get into foul trouble.

Sorry for not posting grades, was at a house warming party. A lot us were watching on our phones but we were not fully locked so me doing grades wouldn’t be fair. Thought Kat and Naw were both fantastic though in my watching

FNG - I agree with you on Rudy. Your description of Rudy’s play last night is probably what prompted Q’s “Lip was right” thread. By the way, that thread will forever remain my favorite of all time. :).

I think some of you are being way too hard on our 22-year old Ant. Was it one of his better games? No. But we sure as hell don't win that game without him. 5-10 from 3, 4 assists and a team high +13. Cripes!
