I’m always very closely aligned with Kek’s and Q’s grades with only minor quibbles. But I have more than minor quibbles with your grades. I thought Rudy was good tonight, but nowhere near A+. Meanwhile, KAT was clearly the Wolves best player tonight, although you can’t overlook the fact that Ant scored 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. I can tell from your grades and various posts that Shake is teachers’s pet in your classroom. :). Here’s how I would grade tonight’s players for the Wolves:

KAT: A- (He didn’t dominate enough to get an A+ and his 6 fouls took him from an A to an A-)
Ant: B+. (His 3-point shot wasn’t dropping, but he scored 23 points and had 10 rebounds)
NAW: B+ (NAW was huge tonight in Jaden’s absence. His defense was outstanding & he hit big shots, scoring at a 50% clip)
Conley: B (steady and solid)
Rudy: B (very poor 1st half, but he picked up his rebounding and defense in the 2nd. He hit some big shots, but was terrible from the line)
Slo Mo: B- (made some key crafty plays. The minus is for his poor free-throw shooting)
Troy Brown: B- (his box score suggests a C, but the eye test takes him up to a B-)

Teacher's Pet? Seriously? Lip, it's strange that you accuse me of bias. I try to give a fair grade. Honestly, at one point tonight, I thought Shake might get an A as he played near flawless with superb passing until he missed some outside shots and I dropped him to a B. I think you are unfair to Shake (and you aren't the only one). Maybe you never liked TC signing him. Perhaps, you might also have a bit of dislike for Rudy too as you were vocal about wanting Rudy traded. You love NAW and I honestly don't see the excellent defense that you rave about. His plus/minus is worst among the rotation players.

NAW was a plus 15 last night. Shake was a 0. That plus minus differential aligns with my eye test watching the game. My Knicks fan friend who went to the game with me had the same reaction as mine to Shake’s play last night. Shake hit only 2 of his 5 FG attempts and missed both of his three-ball attempts. But I still gave him a B for his rebounding and assists.

By the way, there’s nothing wrong with bias. As fans, we all have biases.

I’ll add that I don’t dislike Rudy. I hated the trade that brought him here and didn’t like the way Rudy played last season. But I like what Rudy’s been doing defensively so far this season, and as I’ve noted, he’s doing a better job of not clogging the lane on the offensive end as much as he did last season, which is something Finch referred to as a problem before the season. I’m still concerned about the function of our offense with Rudy, but I’ll take the net positive we’re getting from Rudy this season. As for last night, I think a B was a fair grade for him. He was headed for a C- based on his play in the first half, but his second-half play substantially elevated his grade. I would have given him a B+ if not for his terrible foul shooting.
