Not Sure Where to Put This

Post by Coolbreeze44 »

I have a favorite moment from this season. It was during the game at Golden State. Ant had just been fouled driving to the basket, and he didn't like the manner he was fouled by Draymond. Draymond starts yelling at Ant, "What ya gonna do about it, What ya gonna do about it?" As Ant is getting ready for his first free throw, he looks at Draymond and says "Ain't no one worried about you bruh."

It wasn't just talk, Ant really isn't worried about anyone in the league. Not Draymond Green, not Jimmy Butler. In fact he's proving to be a badass that you don't want to mess around with. Some of that football player persona coming out when he's challenged. And he does it with a certain amount of cool that I love.

Great post, Cool! I didn’t know about that exchange between Edwards and Green. I love it!! Green is a punk. You’re right that Ant probably doesn’t worry about any other player, but I he clearly has a lot of respect for players like Durant, LeBron, Steph Curry, Jimmy Butler and others who he sees as players on his level. What I love about Ant’s comment to Green is that he was really telling Green he’s not on the same level as those other players. Teams game plan to stop Edwards, Durant, and those other guys. Ant’s point to Green was that no team has to worry at all about stopping Draymond Green. And at this point in his career, Green isn’t an elite defender either. Green is smart enough to know exactly what Ant meant and I’m sure it stung.

I’m going to enjoy watching Green get his ass kicked on both sides of the ball as his career wears on.

Yep, in a season full of early positives you nailed a favorite of mine. Ant showed himself to be the type of leader that’s been lacking in all Minnesotas sports teams. Won’t back down and stands up for himself and his team. Ants always had that dog in him but I wonder if Rudy has also brought a bit of that attitude to the club? He’s never been a likeable player and I kind of like that for this team. Overall the team has a certain edge about them that only the Garnett, Cassell, Hassel, Hudson, Latrell squad ever had.
