Wow. I'm an early bird, so I didn't catch the second half. I find myself still in "Timberwolves Franchise" mode where I expect to wake up and read how they blew a game they could have won. This year is definitely different. They may not always win pretty. But like all good teams, the do enough. What a fun season so far! We must be getting close to half way to the low man on the Wins Prediction thread by now (and it's early December!)

Winning is becoming a habit with these Wolves. They put the clamps down on defense at will (48 minutes of ultra-high end defense takes a toll on energy levels) and pull away from another team with a losing record. Will Finch start using a 10 to 11 man rotation when everyone is back? Will Conley get a few rest days with the way everyone is playing? What a great position the Wolves are in with this deep bench. Cannot wait to see what they do against the better teams. 11 of next 16 are in the road against teams with a winning record. Maybe we need a next 10 game prediction thread?

The following is from a medical website. It’s nearly identical to what I found on all the medical sites, including the Mayo Clinc. The main point is that you should resume playing until you’re pain free. Rest is the key to healing this injury. Resuming physical activity can delay healing and potentially lead to complications as described below. Moreover, because the pain changes your gait, it can also lead to other lower body injuries (knees/ankles).

I think the Wolves were reckless allowing Ant to play against the Spurs. He was in obvious pain, repeatedly wincing and often moving awkwardly as he was clearly changing his gait in response to the pain. Top teams around the League sit players out repeatedly just for rest. There’s no excuse for letting Ant play while recovering from this injury.

Hip pointer injury recovery time

Return to play ranges based on the severity of injury, and treatment modalities used. Once pain free gait has been resumed sports specific training can be initiated. With conservative treatment and physical therapy, on average one can expect full recovery within two to four weeks. and longer still if there’s a fracture to the bone. After full healing, you should expect to be able to participate in full activity without restrictions. An injured athlete may return to play once full range of motion and strength have returned.

Complications of a hip pointer

Potential complications include muscle fibrosis, delayed muscle soreness, and myositis ossificans (bone formation after hematoma within a muscle).

Regarding Edwards...hindsight is always 20/20. We don't know what the trainers saw or the conversations they had with Edwards. He was able to play 37 minutes against the Spurs. Did he look 100%? Nope. Such is the life of a professional athlete. That's why they get paid the big bucks. Availability can be your biggest contributions. I don't think we need to make too much of it. They are not going to do anything to put their Franchise player in too great of risk. Now if this was the Thibs regime...then I'd worry.

Like it or not Ant is going to play. A lot of it is financial. He must play 65 games to qualify for All NBA what has significant financial implications for Ant. If he sat out all of these games, he would only have 11 more games he could miss, that’s a high ankle sprain away from potentially missing out on tens of millions of dollars.

Ant is going you play because it’s all pain tolerance and he can’t afford to miss games for a legit financial reason

Based on what I’ve read, I don’t believe it is just pain tolerance. Playing will slow healing time and more importantly it can cause other injuries that result from changing the player’s gait on the court. Ant wasn’t just wincing in pain during the Spurs game; he was also limping noticeably off and on during the game. I’m sure Ant wants to play to get his 65 games and also because of his laudable competitive zeal. It’s up to the team to say no until he’s much closer to 100% than he obviously was against the Spurs. Ant is the best thing to happen to this organization since KG and the organization needs to take great care with him.

That was a really good win which feels a little weird to say but it was. This team just keeps rolling.

Rudy was awesome and so was Towns.

Shake was a mixed bag but this was a game he was at least a positive. They needed him to give them something and he did especially that first half. Hopefully this will be something positive going forward. It’s exciting that McLaughlin is available.

TBJ was really good.

NAW I bet there are teams out there that would like to have a guy like him for around 4 million.

Conley was just ballin at times in this game.

I don’t give a shit about Anderson’s 3 point shooting and people need to quite wrong their hands about it. I loved the fact that. He jacked up some in this game and yeah they weren’t guarding him but again teams including and offend ESPECIALLY Memphis didn’t guard him on 3’s last year. This wasn’t his best game but he still filled up the stat sheet. What’s different about this year compared to last year is ideally if the Wolves are reasonably healthy they won’t HAVE to rely on Kyle as a guy that saves them playing multiple positions. They will have options and one of those options looks like Troy Brown Jr. it’s still only 21 games in but it’s looking like a pretty good signing.

I had this thought also. He is signed for 2 years cheaply so I’m not sure what Memphis would be willing to trade him for. It will be interesting how things look on another month. The Wolves could be an interesting landing spot for a buyout guard.

I think we need another shooter and that's not Derrick Rose.

I’m just thinking of guy that won’t disrupt the chemistry he’s been here. I think he would gel well with these guys and I know he’s not really 3 pt threat but you always need guys that can take someone off the dribble.
