Wolves/Pels GDT

Post by FNG »

It's been a while since the Wolves were underdogs in a game, so I'll step up and take one for the team. We're 2-0 against the Pels this season, but they are a different team when Zion, CJ and Murphy are all in. They're favored by 3 1/2, and they should be...they're really good. And it doesn't help that they are coming off an embarrassing loss to the Lakers with rumors of having perhaps enjoyed the Las Vegas clubs a little too much. That combined with facing the team with the best record in the Association means the Pels are going to be very focused coming into this one.
This is going to be a true test, and a win will clearly show that we are a contender.

But this team scares me...they have 3 legitimate 20-point scorers plus Herbert Jones, who rivals Jaden as the best perimeter defender in the league. And we're banged up. Ant may play, but who knows how effective he will be with Jones on him. And although JMac is healthy, Jaden is still out.

We do have two things going for us though...we're a better rebounding and 3-point shooting team than the Pels (although their poor 3-point shooting has a lot to do with CJ and Murphy missing time). I don't think it's going to be enough though to win this one. I'd love to be surprised though...let's go Wolves!

Agreed, this is going to be a tough one to win. Need to lean into our identity in these kinds of games and focus on defense. May be we'll get hot from outside for once and snag a W, but I think Vegas is right to favor the Pels.

FNG, I read Jaden was questionable going into tonight, has he been ruled out?

This does look like a difficult game. I would have Ant rest unless he feels close to no pain. I don't want this thing continuing to linger and make it more likely to cause other injury. Be smart for the long term. This isn't a playoff game.

If Jaden is ready that would be a nice spark though. But without both it's going to be a tough test.

Cool, yes he is listed as questionable…just like Ant is. I’m not optimistic though because I haven’t heard anything about him practicing at full strength yet. Maybe I missed something, but I don’t know that he is practicing fully yet. It would be a nice surprise to see him suited up

And I see the Wolves are getting the jinx by moving up to #1 in the NBA's weekly power rankings.

Seems like we have no shot tonight, huh?

I wonder how much zone 1 we will play?

Have to trail Ingram everywhere.

I think the Pels have the best starting lineup in the association
