Do we have to do this every time we beat a team that has someone not playing. Just enjoy the team.kekgeek wrote: ↑Sat Dec 16, 2023 10:04 amI know what you are saying but our most common starting lineup has started under 50% of the gamesSameOldNudityDrew wrote: ↑Sat Dec 16, 2023 12:27 amMan, we have had some real luck this year with opponents missing great players.

I love a Wolves win, so I'm usually appreciative when we avoid a star. But this one disappoints me. I think we're much better than an Indy team playing the second night in a row even if they're at full strength, and I'd really like to watch us defend Haliburton. He's a game-day decision though, so hopefully he plays. He's the real deal...at least on offense.

Ok, after falling down 0-1 in these "mock playoffs" after the loss to New Orleans we've now bounced back to take a 2-1 lead by beating Dallas and then Indy.
Next up, Miami then Philly. Let's keep playing well.

Good chance of no Bam Monday night...our bigs are going to feast on a small Heat lineup. I see 3-1 on the horizon.SameOldNudityDrew wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 5:51 am Ok, after falling down 0-1 in these "mock playoffs" after the loss to New Orleans we've now bounced back to take a 2-1 lead by beating Dallas and then Indy.

We are kind of getting lucky here, similar to two seasons ago. But the wins against OKC, Denver, Boston, and @Dallas sort of validates the fact we're really good. But yeah, I'll take some luck along the way.FNG wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 7:56 amGood chance of no Bam Monday night...our bigs are going to feast on a small Heat lineup. Turns out Bam and Herro both played, and we still won...3-1 now in the mock playoffs!Q-is-here wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 10:09 amWe are kind of getting lucky here, similar to two seasons ago. Yep, 3-1 FNG. Great game! Felt like the playoffs. Tough opponent. On the road. In a hole. Then they come back and hold on in crunch time. Experience like this will should help us get ready for the actual playoffs.FNG wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 11:49 amTurns out Bam and Herro both played, and we still won...3-1 now in the mock playoffs!
Now let's treat this Philly game like a close-out game and get even more good experience.

Ok, so we didn't close it out against Philly and it was 3-2, but then we closed it out to win the first mock series of this stretch, 4-2. I'll take that. That gets chalked up as a mock series win for us, we're on to the second round, and it's 0-0.
Next up, the Kings to start the second "series" in these mock playoffs. Still 10 more straight games against tough opponents coming up before the schedule starts to look more up and down. If we go the equivalent of 4-1 twice we could still win 3 "series" but I'll be happy if we just win the second series and don't ever lose a series.
Let's do it.

Yeah, I looked at the schedule again and my eyes popped out. What a crazy tough stretch still remaining before things ease up a bit. Denver or OKC may overtake us temporarily, but then we may have a good chance of re-taking the #1 after early January.SameOldNudityDrew wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 1:37 pm Ok, so we didn't close it out against Philly and it was 3-2, but then we closed it out to win the first mock series of this stretch, 4-2. Ok, nice win against the Kings. We're now 1-0 in the second round of the mock playoffs. Let's keep it rollin!
