If the NBA is going to officiate the Flopper like this, just hand them the trophy right now. I hate the NBA sometimes.

The only saving grace to the way they call him and Harden is that they get used to this shit, but then in the playoffs they swallow the whistle and harden/embiid don't know how to adjust (Embiid has the worst playoff/reg season splits of anyone for ppg)

I knew the wolves lost when they couldn't win the embiidless minutes at the beginning of the 4th. Embiid's mid-range was unconscious tonight, which worked well since we couldn't play him tight at all with the way the whistle/foul situation worked out. I hope Edwards' ankle is ok for the lakers game...

Anthony Edwards on Joel Embiid: "Man, my brother was just texting me like, ‘Bruh, I ain’t never seen nothin’ like it.’ He’s unstoppable, man. I don’t see how they lose a game, honestly. I don’t see how they lose."

Later, he added: "I don’t know how they lose a game ....

I agree that Embiid is unstoppable when he shoots like that. The problem is he isn't usually as hot with his mid-range as he was last night...only 42 % for his career on shots 3-10 feet. Joel tends to settle for the jumper sometimes and that hurts him. Not last night though. I actually think being able to hang with the 76ers on the road on a night when their two stars were so hot is a testament to how good this Wolves team is. I don't think any team was going to beat Philly last night.

Embiid is a truly dominant big. He dominate on both ends of the floor, which distinguishes him from Jokic. There have been very few dominant two-way centers in League history. Embiid is right there with Wilt and Shaq.

Regarding last night’s game, the Wolves scored 113 points. Note that 8 of the 10 winning teams last night scored over 120 points. The Sixers scored 127 to beat us. The Cavs scored 124, the Pacers 144, the Hawks 134, the Clippers 120 and the Celtics 144. Just a reminder that the Wolves offense isn’t where it needs to be. Finch made that point recently at one of his post-game pressers. The team has improved offensively. The ball is moving better, KAT has gotten himself back on track offensively and Ant has been productive.

So what will it take to get the team’s offense where it needs to be? I still think KAT and Ant can take their scoring up a notch. I continue to believe that Jaden is just scratching the surface of his offensive potential, but at some point we might have to accept that we won’t get much more from him offensively. That’s fine considering his stellar defense and generally efficient scoring. NAW’s shooting comes and goes but like Jaden he remains a critical part of the rotation because of his defense. Rudy is what he is - a great paint defenders who can score in the teens on put-backs and lobs (if thrown just right). Slo Mo does a lot of great things, but he’s not a shooter or scorer. I’ve given up on Milton, who I was never excited about to begin with.

Bottom line is that I’m beginning to think the organization needs to add a scorer to the roster. Ideally, it would be a scoring PG so we have someone who can step in if the 36-year old Conley goes down for an extended period. I’m not sure that would be or how the Wolves could make it happen. The organization lacks trade assets to acquire a proven scorer. We dare not trade NAW and I wouldn’t trade Troy Brown Jr. Obviously, we’re not going to trade Ant, KAT, Jaden, Conley or Rudy. Milton, Moore and JMac have no significant trade value. I wouldn’t trade Miller or Minott because we need to hang on to our high-potential young players given our depleted draft capital. The one guy they perhaps should consider trading is Slo Mo, but I’d hate to lose his veteran leadership and the little things he does.

For now, I’m content to see if we can get more offensive out of KAT, Ant, Jaden, NAW and Brown. But at some point, the Wolves may need to make a move. If Conley goes down for an extended period, the Wolves will definitely need to make a move of some kind even if it’s poaching a G-League player from another organization.

As I do my best Abe's "Meh"...

The bench had perhaps their worst game of the season. Their turnovers were just atrocious. Bad performances happen. And it was a perfect storm of all bench players having bad performances at the same time. Flush the game and move on to the next one.

Lip, I agree that Jaden has a lot of offensive upside that we haven't seen regularly. I liked what I saw last night though. Maxey is a poor defender, and they tried to hide him on Jaden as they perceived him to be our least potent scorer...he responded with 19 first half points! Good job by Finchie and Jaden noting this and getting Jaden more involved.

It was also interesting for me to see our offense intimidated by Joel the same way opponents are intimidated by Rudy every night. Several times a T-Wolf got into the lane, but then decided not to shoot with Joel looming. I don't know that I've seen this before, and it makes me more grateful we have Rudy.
