Kekgeek grades G31 vs lakers
Re: Kekgeek grades G31 vs lakers
KAT has to be an F too. That was insanely bad. He didn't even look like he wanted to be there.
Re: Kekgeek grades G31 vs lakers
A total of 10 fouls + turnovers again for KAT. I mean, that is just pathetic. And Kyle Anderson is starting to become more and more of a problem.
I'm all in on trying to go get Tyus Jones. I know it may cost us, but Ant and KAT can't be trusted to run an offense through them and Kyle Anderson's lack of an outside shot is really starting to hurt. Go get him!

Yeah, I'm ready as well. We become a much better team with Tyus.Q-is-here wrote: ↑Sat Dec 30, 2023 9:56 pm A total of 10 fouls + turnovers again for KAT. I mean, that is just pathetic. And Kyle Anderson is starting to become more and more of a problem.

As usual, I can’t quibble much with your grades, kek. I agree with you that KAT avoided an F with some key rebounding and solid defense down the stretch. I’d actually give him a straight D instead of a D-. But he was terrible tonight. We saw way too much again of the old low-IQ KAT making really dumb decisions with the ball.
No question that Slo Mo’s inability to shoot is becoming a problem. It’s a problem because we don’t have enough shooters in the rotation to compensate. This team really can’t afford to have a key rotation player like Kyle who can’t shoot from more than 10 feet away.
The only grade we’re far apart on is Finch. I’d give him a C. The officiating tonight was horribly (and suspiciously) one-sided in favor of the Lakers tonight and there were several calls Finch should have challenged. Finch continues to show an absurd reluctance to use his challenges. I also fault Finch for not designing more plays for KAT to take threes. KAT wasn’t going to have success inside tonight, but I like his chances of hitting threes if given enough opportunities.

Re: Kekgeek grades G31 vs lakers
Excellent grading, Kek. I'll do some very minor quibbling with the order of your A's:
I have a love/hate relationship going with Ant, so I'm not comfortable ranking him at the same level as Marvelous Mike...especially on a night where he ignores the coach telling him to leave the court. Also, Naz's offense was exceptional tonight, but we just can't trust him on defense whether he is guarding the perimeter or the rim. So, I'll give Mike an A and downgrade the other two to A-. Like I said, very minor quibbling.
And I'll side with Lip and raise KAT from his D-...in fact, I'll give him a C-. Why, on a night when his offense was truly dreadful? Two reasons: defense and character. KAT hustled and played great defense all night, both inside and closing on the perimeter. I don't believe the box score where he had no blocks, because I saw two. And his close outs on the perimeter were a big reason for the Lakers' poor 3-point shooting (pay attention, Naz...you can do that too) And character? I think we can put the whining KAT in the rear view mirror. On a night where he frankly stunk on offense, he hustled and kept a game face on all night (pay attention and learn, Ant...you can learn to stop whining like KAT has learned).

Great analysis, FNG. You’ve persuaded me to take KAT’s grade up to a C- as well. Regarding KAT’s character as a teammate, I’ll add than when Ant left the game hopping on one leg KAT accompanied him to the locker room. And yes, Ant has to follow KAT’s lead and stop whining about calls.FNG wrote: ↑Sun Dec 31, 2023 7:30 am Excellent grading, Kek. I'll do some very minor quibbling with the order of your A's:

Re: Kekgeek grades G31 vs lakers
KAT still has a ways to go in getting smarter on offense, but I do appreciate his change in demeanor. Good observation on him accompanying Ant to the locker room. If KAT can change, so can Ant.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 31, 2023 8:48 amGreat analysis, FNG. You’ve persuaded me to take KAT’s grade up to a C- as well.
