I'd part with Leonard Miller or Josh Minott in a heart beat to get Tyus Jones if that's what it takes. However, I doubt either are valued that highly by other front offices.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 30, 2023 11:48 pmI agree. I think Leonard Miller would have to be included in any package for Tyus and I wouldn’t be willing to make that deal. Actually, I wouldn’t even part with Josh Minott. Let’s see where things are at when we get close to the February trade deadline. If Conley goes down with an injury for an extended time, then we might have to consider giving up Minott or Leonard for a Tyus or someone comparable. But we’re still in first place and perhaps there’s a G-League PG/shooter out there who we can bring in.WildWolf2813 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 27, 2023 11:57 am To me it comes down to whether the team thinks Leonard Miller can step right in and not have much of a dropoff. Since they clearly feel this is a redshirt year for all intents and purposes for Miller on an NBA level, they can't, but they really need to monitor Miller's development, because as soon as next year he could be starting.
I say no and pray the buyout market lands them a shooter. If it doesn't this season, it never will.

Re: Kyle Anderson
Me too, Q. My sense is that Miller might still be highly valued...there was a lot of talk about him being a steal in this draft. But it would take more to free up a proven PG like Tyus. I normally mock package trades (they often sound like cleaning out the trash), but a haul of Miller, Garza, a second round pick and Shake (who has been terrible with us, but quite good in other years) might get some attention from a tanking team. I actually think there would be a lot of pushback here about giving that up, but I think a trade like that would solidify our championship hopes (and isn't it fun to even consider a championship after years of futility?)Q-is-here wrote: ↑Sun Dec 31, 2023 10:18 amI'd part with Leonard Miller or Josh Minott in a heart beat to get Tyus Jones if that's what it takes. My thing when it comes to trading one of our young guys is this is probably the best year the wolves are going to have to win a championship. So you have to go for it. Because if financial situations the wolves are going to lose either Kyle or Conley in free agency and possibly both. I think it’s unlikely that the group of Miller, Minott or Moore end up being better than Kyle in these next 2 years (rest of Rudy contract). So this is the best chance the wolves are going to have to win a title so you go for it
Re: Kyle Anderson
Thx for that information on Garza, kek. And also thanks for teeing up a topic I have been thinking about...that the Wolves need to go all in to win a championship this year, because who knows how long that window will be open. Jim Pete is a veteran of several NBA seasons, and he talked about that a month ago. He said that while dynasties can happen, more often a team has a very small window of opportunity to win a championship...and they need to recognize both that it's open, and that it can close quite quickly. And then he said that window was open for the Wolves right now. And that's why I think trading assets for a valuable player that fills a gaping hole like Jones would be optimal right now.kekgeek wrote: ↑Sun Dec 31, 2023 11:06 amGarza can’t be traded (2 way players can’t be traded)FNG wrote: ↑Sun Dec 31, 2023 10:33 amMe too, Q. Re: Kyle Anderson
Yeah, we have to do whatever it takes. I do think this is our one shot at a title with this particular core group. I think there could be another shot in 2-3 years with a team totally built around Ant, but it will take some time for the roster to turn over and get the right guys in place. That doesn't mean we are a bad team for the next couple years, but it may be hard to be a top seeded playoff team during the transition.
Re: Kyle Anderson
I was the one vote for trading Kyle… I think he’s the one asset that could be an anchor for a trade. Tyus, Bones… not sure who the front office should be looking for, but they should be looking. I’d put everyone below Naz/NAW on the table.
Re: Kyle Anderson
Kek did they change the rule on 2-ways not being traded? They were able to be traded after 30 days. They don’t count towards salary either outgoing or incoming. I had been wondering when the first time a 2-way player gets traded where they are considered a legit asset. Garza seems like a guy that if a team wanted to get him he would could at least as much as a decent 2nd round pick.FNG wrote: ↑Sun Dec 31, 2023 11:20 amThx for that information on Garza, kek. Re: Kyle Anderson
Yep, I want to make it clear that I don’t think the championship window is closed after this year because of Ant and Jaden development but this is the last year the wolves are deep and don’t have huge roster construction constraints. I would hate to not go for it because we hope miller or Minott end up goodQ-is-here wrote: ↑Sun Dec 31, 2023 11:33 am Yeah, we have to do whatever it takes. Re: Kyle Anderson
Right, the Ant/Jaden window isn't closed by any means, but the Ant/Gobert/KAT window might be closed. I get that they don't have to break up these three right away, but it's hard for me to see them being able to assemble the right supporting cast around them next season, which will necessitate some changes eventually.kekgeek wrote: ↑Sun Dec 31, 2023 11:45 amYep, I want to make it clear that I don’t think the championship window is closed after this year because of Ant and Jaden development but this is the last year the wolves are deep and don’t have huge roster construction constraints.
