Great idea, Tim! We won our first two series, so now we are in the NBA finals. It's going to be a tough start with three road games (one against the best team in the Association), but we love a challenge. Let's do it, Drew!

The Wolves fall to 0-1 in the NBA finals. Mike Conley said post-game that a lot of players have been under the weather the past couple weeks, but still playing. I get what he's saying, as I've been fighting something since Christmas too. I think I would still be suiting up if I were on a team, but I'd be about 75% effective. I think this has a lot to do with our subpar play the past two weeks, and makes me think we are going on a big run after the Boston game.

Drew, I hope you are okay with us highjacking your thread...it was a fun idea, and we're now in the finals. Beating Orlando last night was kind of like stealing the second game of a series on the road to go 1-1, but we're almost certain to fall to 1-2 in the Gahden tonight. Then if we're going with Tim's idea of only counting games against .500 teams, the games we have left in the series are the Clippers and OkC at home, OkC on the road, and game 7 if needed against Dallas at home. This is going to be a tough series to win, but we can do it!

Drew is like that....he does a brain dump of valuable thoughts and commentary and then disappears for vast stretches. Thanks for carrying the torch FNG!

1-2 now in the NBA finals, but three of the remaining 4 games are at home. I think we learned a couple positive things about this team in the past 2 games. We learned in Orlando that we can win without Ant. And we learned in Boston that we can hang with Boston without Rudy and Conley.

The reason I'm having so much fun with this concept by Drew (as amended by Tim) is that two recent games (Celtics and Clippers) really felt like an NBA playoff game! We're now 2-2, and the next two games could really feel like playoff games...home and away against the Thunder. I'd love to sweep the two and win the NBA championship 4-2, but if we split them, that will set up a fun game 7 at home against a talented Dallas team. Let's go Wolves!

Did I miss a series? My math says we are in the Western Conference Finals…

One thing you can always count on...if there's math involved, FNG is likely to screw up! You are correct...we have won two series, so we are in the Western Conference finals. I like it for two reasons. The games against the clippers, OkC and potentially Dallas seem meaningful because all could be replicated in the actual conference finals. And second, if we win this series, we can do it again in the Championship Series. This thread might last until March 12...with three games against the Clippers in the finals  .

My assumptions are that we win a game 7 in the Conference finals against Dallas on 1/31, and that Houston doesn't have a winning record by the time we play them (and therefore that game doesn't count). If this holds up, we could be looking at a
Game 7 on the road against the Clippers on March 12...could be tough.

A loss on critical game 5 puts us in a 2-3 hole in the Western Conference Finals. Now we have to win in OkC in 8 days and them beat Dallas at home 2 days later to advance. It's gonna be tough, but we can do it!
